TSCLT 12.0: The pantheon hates a pussy 2.0

Home. Friday Gang was poorly attended.

Talked to my buddy whose son fell 3 storeys in the wee hours of Thursday morning. This morning, Dad told him to stay put at the hospital until tomorrow. He checked himself out. He destroyed his phone, he has nothing to drive, and he can't get back to his AirBnB. Dad told him to call a taxi and go to a motel and to check himself in and stay there. Broken pelvis, broken ribs, and a fucked up shoulder. If he had stayed at the hospital, they have drugs.

So Dad is headed out in the morning . . . .

Happy Saturday!!! It wasn't my intention to wake up quite as early as this, yet here I am. Cats are checking out their territory. Get to go pick up the bike this morning - hundreds of dollars later. Damned code-talking on board computers. I'm learning about dielectric grease, too. Of course, it's also likely to rain this morning, so that will add a degree of difficulty if it occurs.

Coffee first, of course.

If you do not tell the truth about yourself, you cannot tell it about other people.
--- Virginia Woolf

The Buddha answered: "Lose your greed for pleasure. See how letting go of the world brings deep tranquility. There is nothing you need hold on to and nothing you need push away. Live in the present but do not cling to it and then you can go from place to place in peace. There is a state of greed that enters and dominates the individual. But when that greed has gone, it is like poison leaving a body and death will have no more terror for you."

Dad came to pick me up and deposit me at the bike shop. He was blowing town to go to pick up Dummeh and bring him home and try to get him patched up. It's an all day round trip for him. I cleared a bunch of old pictures out of my phone - crap from the old job. I don't need it/them any more. He took me and dumped me at the Awful Waffle up the street from the bike shop, so I ate and dumped more pictures.

Picked up the HfD. Runs like a winner. Electrical crap is always a nuisance, but it's sorted out. Beat the rain coming home.

DE grease needs to be properly used or it will really screw things up. Useful stuff if you're riding in the wet like the guys riding the Dalton Highway. When I drove the ITH last year, I saw a lot of bikes, but can't recall an HD on the road. Most were "Adventure Bikes" ith a good bit of mud on them.

As usual, more research is needed. Also, more isn't always better.

Interesting video, but I'm not sure I agree:

Happy birthday, Joe Hill!!!

We ain't mourning, but we're not very well organized, either . . . .

My will is easy to decide
For there is nothing to divide
My kin don't need to fuss and moan
"Moss does not cling to rolling stone"

My body? Oh, if I could choose
I would to ashes it reduce
And let the merry breezes blow
My dust to where some flowers grow

Perhaps some fading flower then
Would come to life and bloom again.
This is my Last and final Will.
Good Luck to All of you

42º this morning.

Fall has arrived.

I was actually ready for it this year. I need one more day to close up my koi pond and get a net over it.

Happy Sunday!!! The Lie App says it's 46* outside. The furnace hasn't kicked in here, so I need to look at that to see what's up. I may just have it set low. It doesn't matter. Besides, everyone else in here has on a fur coat.

Coffee has heat . . . .

Meditation is like a single log of wood. Insight and investigation are one end of the log; calm and concentration are the other end. If you lift up the whole log, both sides come up at once. Which is concentration and which is insight? Just this mind.

Food is either prepped, baking or someone else is making it, a couple more hours and we'll all be saying 'why didn't somebody stop me'

We never really got very warm this year, we're currently at 58 which is a bit too warm for our October but I won't complain when my heating bill comes in.

Warm here. 56°F this morning. It's a no jacket day. At home, the boiler has a electronic ignition and no pilot. I don't know that it's more reliable. I do know that if it craps out, I dunno how to fix it. Since it heats the hotwater too, it's never turned off.

Happy Monday!!! Slept okay. Sorted on the furnace a bit last night. The issue seems to be electrical, so we'll diddle with it a bit more tonight, after I score a new power cable. And it seems that my current tester is Out West where it isn't doing me a damned bit of good.

Dishes are washed, cats have eaten, trash is out, football team sucks. It's going to be cooler today and warm a bit as the week goes on. Daytime highs start to drop noticeably next week. Of course, next week is also the beginning of traditional frost season.

Not without coffee.

We confess our little faults to persuade people that we have no large ones.

~ Francois de La Rochefoucauld

Reality as it is becomes the right view of the meditator. Thinking of it as it is becomes the right thought. Awareness of it as it is becomes the right awareness. Concentration on it as it is becomes the right concentration. Actions of the body and speech are then aligned to reality as it is. In this way the meditator develops and is fulfilled.

We seem to have our schedule in place so that we can be done with all but punch work by the end of the month. Even with the fuck-up on the shower, insh'Allah.

Home. Grazing in. Maybe a bit of viddie . . . .

Happy Tuesday!!! Slept okay. No ruckus out of the cats - yet. Looks to be a touch warmer today. We actually got a few drops of rain on the way home last night. Got another productive day lined up, thanks be to Allah.

After coffee, of course.

Hi y'all!

Just dropping in.
It's been a while.
Stuff just happens.
Like is like that. A lot.

T-t-t-t-turn and face the strange ch-ch-ch-changes...,
Don't want to be a better man?

I have another onion in my home improvements:

Want a hot tub on the back patio...

So to run a 240 line is about $1800. Ok. That's doable.

But...

Electrician says he can't put a 240 line in my existing Federal Pacific box (Yes, I know. They burn houses down).

New breaker box is about $2100. Oy... up to about 4K now.

But...

County inspector wont approve the new breaker box because the mast on the roof is bent.

New mast is $3,000.

$7,000 before I even buy the hot tub! I might just buy a new house with one already installed.
