The landlady's kittens are non-stop. They're annoying my travel cat, but she's quiet about it now. It's like they'll be bestest buds forever.

Death Again

Jim Harrison

Let’s not get romantic or dismal about death.
Indeed it’s our most unique act along with birth.
We must think of it as cooking breakfast,
it’s that ordinary. Break two eggs into a bowl
or break a bowl into two eggs. Slip into a coffin
after the fluids have been drained, or better yet,
slide into the fire. Of course it’s a little hard
to accept your last kiss, your last drink,
your last meal about which the condemned
can be quite particular as if there could be
a cheeseburger sent by God. A few lovers
sweep by the inner eye, but it’s mostly a placid
lake at dawn, mist rising, a solitary loon
call, and staring into the still, opaque water.
We’ll know as children again all that we are
destined to know, that the water is cold
and deep, and the sun penetrates only so far.

Happy road trip Monday. Heading Back East today. A bit more coffee, a bit more packing and a bit of loading and the road shall be hit.

Definitely more coffee . . . .

What is most essential to Buddhism is based on clarifying the mind. If you want your mind to be clear, it is important to put opinions to rest. If opinions are not stopped, then wrong and right are confused; if the mind is not clear, reality and illusion are mixed up. If you stop opinions and clear the mind, then reality and illusion are both empty, wrong and right do not stand.

Happy Tuesday!!! From here in Back East. A decent sleep was had, Josh is lit, coffee is on, and wrapping my head around going to work is taking place.

In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.

Happy Wednesday!!! Some cat was running the house during the night. Otherwise, it was a peaceful night. We got more weasels on the way to work today. So, theoretically, there should be more weaseling done.

Coffee first . . . .

Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things"Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.

~ -Lin Yutang

Home. Grazing on leftovers.

The plumber weasels are getting kinda lame on me. I may need to sic the boss on their boss. I hate to do that, but if you don't listen to me, then that's what happens. I know the game he's playing.

Happy Thursday!!! Slept decently enough. There's another busy day ahead. Good for getting things done, good for the psyche, and perhaps a bit of it is good for mankind. That will remain to be determined.

Coffee makes it possible.

So much fear and desire come from that commitment to 'I am'--to being somebody. Eventually they take us to anxiety and despair; life seems much more difficult and painful than it really is.

But when we just observe life for what it is, then it's all right: the delights, the beauty, the pleasures are just that.

Tis a winter wonderland here on Savage Mountain this morning. I'm predicting this is the last of it until October though.

I hope so. We haven't seen frost in weeks. No one is complaining.

Weasels are weaseling. I think that the demo weasels have weaseled out. I have a call in to their jefe to find out what the chingao is going on.
