Happy Friday!!! Sleep was interesting. Household hellions are quiet for the moment. Weather is a bit cooler for the next few days, which is okay. There's a road trip tomorrow - it the host is up to it - to look at and cut a deal on some car parts. Anvil stuff, of course. A couple of days break will be nice.
And there will be coffee to get this one going . . . .
Meditate on that which is beyond words and symbols. Forsake the demands of the self. By such forsaking you will live serenely.
Home. Grazing in. There may be some piddling around the house after grazing. There will be a trip to fix my gaze on some car parts. Anvil parts. They don't make that shit any more.
Happy Sunday!!! Slept decently and plentifully. The kids are milling around a bit. Coffee is made and first cup is served. Plans are being plotted for the day. That means starting with the shopping list. Ah, the possibilities . . . .
I figure she lets the kids fend for themselves, and this they, if they can n000k, they won't starve. The multiple 24 packs of mystery meat hot dogs kinda made me puke a little in my mouth.
Happy Monday!!! Slept decently. Girlcat was snoring her head off when I decided that it was close enough to alarm time. Looks like a decent day weatherwise. We should get more weasels today.
We have plenty of coffee now . . . .
The problem is not materialism as such. Rather, it is the underlying assumption that full satisfaction can arise from gratifying the senses alone. Unlike animals whose quest for happiness is restricted to survival and to the immediate gratification of sensory desires, we human beings have the capacity to experience happiness at a deeper level which, when achieved, can overwhelm unhappy experiences.
No doubt you will be happy to know that I've finalized the tour of potential Florida locations to warm my bones in future winters. Next week, M-F, 11 properties to visit. Convenient to three golf courses, a Publix and an American Legion. I don't know what more a man could want from retirement.
