Long day at the job site. Not too hot but the humidity must have been over 4000%. The exterior painters got pulled - their boss says we buggered the contract. Ya gotta love it. Built some elevator shaft barricades. Closed a bunch of windows because there is rain about. It was nearly dead in there today. Oh, and there are an assload of video training classes that Wat has to be subjected to. Sexual harassment. Where does he sign up????

Happy Tuesday!!! Slept okay, which is no surprise since yesterday was an ass-kicker. No matter. Today should be some more of the same except with a bit more heat. Wonder if the worker bees will show in numbers. We'll see.

Our job is in trouble. The wall finish boss man made good on his threats to pull his crew for non-payment. Oddly enough, the exterior painters was there pulling his equipment because boss man hasn't paid him. And they wonder why Wat always says, follow the money trail. Always!!!


So I'm back to the scrotel to watch the inbox full of training videos that they sent for me to watch.

Happy Thursday!!! Slept okay. I seem to kinda be back to early to bed/early to rise, and I could stand to sleep a bit longer, but I reckon it doesn't matter.


FedEx finally got the package to where it was going, the one I "shipped" on Saturday - for Monday before 1030 - which turned out to be Tuesday Afternoon, and not the Moody Blues version. But the landlady is all sicced on them now, so $50-odd dollars should be reappearing in my account. And she has a new gig to start today.

Well, the job is illin'. The PM didn't call back the super yesterday. That's some shit. He called this morning to say he'd try to get on it, complaining that he had/has something like 400 emails. Sounds like they need some managers on board and need to manage their way to getting some, fer-fucks-sake. Meanwhile, checks that went out Friday bounced on Monday. It wasn't a lack of funding but was some kind of clerical error. It guaranteed to cost money and to cause all manner of I'll will in the subcontractor community. There is no surer way to lose folks than to bounce some 6-digit cheques.


Meanwhile, the wall contractor came out to talk to the super. His lawyer hasn't made any calls yet, either. This shit may drag on for a couple of weeks, and if it does, then every fucking thing there will come to a screeching halt.


Reminds me a bit of my building flood last fall.

Today at the job site, we had the Safety Lady. She was all tarted in her safety attire. She trained a couple of the n000bs on general job site safety and then we walked the building. Holy fuck, what list, and this is after we had done some things to clean it up a bit. Anyway, we had a pleasant visit even if the job ain't bein' all it can be. And that'll give us some stuff to work on, so there's that, too.


The funny bit is, it was a whole safety shitshow that blew up on my last job, And Wat was pretty damned sure that it wasn't Wat. Today kinda proved that.

Happy Friday!!! Slept okay. Been running kinda tired this week, and the heat may have had something to do with it. Got the safety lady work write-up to get after today. We should have the report for which we can make a hard copy and check off our shit as we fix it. And then drive back to Chez Wat East.

Happy Saturday!!! Home, cats. Slept okay. Nothing in the mail of note. May be a touch of post nasal drip going on this morning. Been awhile since that's happened.


Work yesterday was okay. It wasn't particularly warm and the upper floors had cooled off a bit. We got the report from the safety lady and we worked on that some more. There were 3 step ladders on the job which she had deemed unsafe and to be tossed, and one of them was tagged in April. We threw it out and the little metal one (shock hazard) and kept the 3rd one and used it to change light bulbs on the temporary string. That was fun.


Kinda half shopping for a bigger tractor with a loader. I'd prefer a Case 580 hoe/loader like I learned to use a long time ago. I bet I could get back to moderately competent after a few days or a couple of weeks.


Going to pick up my new/old rifle when the FFL opens - after I drink some more coffee.

Oddly enough, there is a wee klatch of folks here who don't suck. It's really rather refreshing to see. It reminds me of the first few weeks back in '02 when I was finding my way around here. It's lighthearted and pleasant. Of course, there are the usual squabble-pits of lies, disrespect, and vitriol. It's still a varied place even after all these years.


The Josh burns here as it frequently does for those who suffer needlessly.

Laundry and shooping are on the radar. At least any major cooking isn't. The grass can wait until next week. It'll still be here I'm sure.


The Josh is lit for all of those who suffer needlessly.

Happy Tuesday!!! Here in the scrotel outta town for work. Still an okay place. The PM showed up yesterday because the super is out for a couple of days on a medical. The PM doesn't inspire confidence.
