TSCLT 7.0: Hemis, Harleys, Hooters-n-Harridans

The Hysterical Preservation Board is giving away free money and I'd like a little taste of it. So I put on this silly neck tie. Can you imagine wearing one of these things every day?

Also, as the people who will be bestowing favors are government people, they will probably have ID badges on lanyards so they know who they are. I may make myself one so they recognize me as one of their own. A 3x5 card with some fishin' line should work.

All I have is a black sharpie....

Quit bragging about your SO...

:D

The local car company is using the owner's kid as a cute little pitchman, suit & tie.

The only problem is, they have to add a translation to what the little booger-eater says...

You guys are starting to get into a little more work than I'm willing to put into it. I mean, I already put on a tie. It's even a Jerry Garcia tie. That's gotta be worth mid-six figures.

Sorry guys, this is the last time I'm politicking.
Don't go down that path, freedom of speech didin't have a damn thing to do with it. Someone or something set that murderer on the path he took.

Yes you have a point.
Like the Paris summit. I'm sure that Jacinda Arden is driven by pure intentions, but I see that some of her compatriots are concerned about who she's teaming up with:

Jacinda Ardern must not let Emmanuel Macron co-opt the Christchurch Call
https://thespinoff.co.nz/politics/0...emmanuel-macron-co-opt-the-christchurch-call/

“This isn’t about freedom of expression,” she said. “This is about preventing violent extremism and terrorism online.”
Ardern’s words may be reassuring for some. But the fact that she’s teaming up with Macron? Not so much.

Macron and his government appear particularly hostile towards journalists. Last year, Macron backed a bill that allowed parties and politicians to complain about false or “implausible” news during an election campaign, kicking it over to a judge who would have 48 hours to decide whether to remove it. Early this year, on the orders of the French public prosecutor (who was chosen by Macron after he rejected three others), police demanded to search without a warrant the office of online news outlet Mediapart, which had just published scandalous and politically damaging stories about two of Macron’s former security guards.

All of this has been escalated by the rise of the gilets jaunes protest movement that opposes Macron.
Macron’s government plans to punish protesters who attend “unauthorised protests” and wear face masks, and even ban “troublemakers” from protesting.
This is on top of the brutal and heavy-handed measures authorities have already taken to deal with demonstrators, which UN human rights experts have denounced. The protests have seen more than 80 journalists arrested, detained or attacked by authorities while doing their jobs, something the secretary-general of Reporters Without Borders called “chilling”.

Let's see what our little Squanto is hiding behind Victor's skirts today for?

Hmmm......political progress means moral regress?

I think not.

Back in our Situational Native American's youth, he was doing poppers in the bathrooms of gay bars (which, sadly, resulted in the atrial fibrillation that prevents him from obtaining meaningful employment in this, his supposed "peak earning years"). Married multiple times, bestotted by alcohol, never being able to keep a job very long, dependent upon his wife to "bring home the bacon".....the pister formerly know as AndraJenny has lived a life of pure unrestrained hedonism.

Now that he is in the twilight of his years, he's attempting to assume the mantel of a village elder, espousing trite "do as I say, not as I do".

A pathetic man.
A wasted life.

The latest AR build is all but done. Everything went smoothly until I coated the damn thing. There were three areas that I should have masked off that I didn't. One was an oversight (shame on me) and the other two shouldn't have mattered.........they did.

I used DuroCoat (I like the finish) but two coats lays down almost a mil (~.040) thick. The parts that this interfered with have a little over .050 slop. .080 over thickness was just too much for a good fit so I spent a LOT of time carefully removing material. My problems revolved around the trigger/hammer group and the take-down pin.

Bottom line is that the machine work was perfect, all of my problems were self-inflicted.

Staycation at an historic hotel. At an Irish bar quite delightfully inebriated. A shot of Jameson Black Barrel and my rate of speech slows to that of mere mortals. It's the little things that are the mark of a good kitchen. The simple French dip sandwich but serve with an outstanding au jus. Clearly, not from bouillon. I inquired, it was made in house. I am staying three floors about the suites of Hollywood legends. You can feel the history. My grandfather likely socialized there. His office nearby. A menu form 1940 had a nice seafood dinner. . .for $70. Adjusted for inflation that would be over $1,200. If you simply exchanged 70 silver dollars for its current melt down value it's about $800.

Happy Friday!!!

I see that Manu finally oppressed another rodent into servitude, slaving away in the generator wheel that powers Lit's 1998-model server. I would make a comment about vacuum tubes, but . . . .

Good on the builds. Good on the staycation. Wat gots work, so work time ten to the twenty-third or something like that.

Meanwhile, Wat has coffee . . . .
