Twenty Somethings

all this just for changing my title back to virgin for as long as I can't get away from this stigmata. I don't think it's something bad, but it seems to be a stigmata in my area

Especially with people at the age of 20+ I often get the feeling that if you tell them that you are still a virgin they think you are either a nerd/geek or a religious freak :(

sad world... but hey, the freak part is somehow right (My hobbies are philosophy and psychology... that makes me a freak in the eyes of some people where I live...)

So, just for fun... I aim for 1000 posts :nana: (ok, the number one reason is I hate to be a liar :D )
hm... curious what region this is now...

but well, back when i was still a virgin (which i must admit in my case is quite a while ago, but i think on average girls lose their virginity earlier than guys, especially if you consider that a lot of teenage girls go out with older, sometimes non-teenage guys), i thought i am about the only one who is left, and that it meant no one wanted me and that no one would ever want me - but then, when i was not a virgin anymore, i suddenly realized how many of my friends still were. they just never really mentioned it, or if they did i didn't listen.

but well, actually i think people who are interested in philosophy or psychology are interesting, and i would much prefer them over anyone interested in, for example, soccer. and i know a lot of girls think like me. so either you just haven't met them yet, or you are really in the wrong region. did i understand right that you live in a rural region or a very small town? do you go to university? around here it's just normal that there are all kinds of people interested in all kinds of things, so it's quite easy to find your "scene", and especially if you go to university and study something you are interested in. back when i still went to school in some small town it always seemed i am the weird one interested in things no normal person would care about. but since i started living in berlin and studying some of the things i am interested in i met a lot of people with similar ideas to mine...

yup, small town with 14 to 15.000 people living here, ok it's a Kreisstadt but I think it does not deserve this title. The typical sort of entertainment you can get here is getting drunk and I don't drink alcohol so I'm out of this "fun".

The people (at least boys my age) here can talk about 3 subjects, cars and girls. I can't get the first one for I am absolutly not interested in cars, the second, well... let's just say it happens quite often that the girls in question are not my taste at all (at least 90% of them).

Oh well, I said 3. The 3rd is everything I have no love for, be it soccer, drugs, party-music whatever.

I like to visist big cities once in a while, last year it was munich and I think it's a fantastic city but to live there? Maybe in the future... at the moment I'm bound to this place by my work.

well i guess in the end small towns or big towns can be fine, if you know the right people... just that the people i tend to hang out with here aren't that easily found in small towns. like for one thing half of them aren't german... since i study languages i meet a lot of people from other countries at university. and well the range of cultural events where i can meet people with similar interests is bigger... erm, i guess its obvious i like berlin...

but well, i guess in a town of 15.000 people you should still find some who are interested in similar things as you...

I got something to say. I watched the Championship games and I been tellin' everybody the Steelers would win. I made it home in time to catch 2nd quarter, fell asleep in the middle of Rolling stones and half-time and beginning of 3rd (well I hadn't slept in a day), and I saw the end and Steelers freakin' won!! Woot-woot! Not saying they're my favorite team, but I'm just celebrating on the fact that I knew they'd win.

I could care less about either team, but I was leaning toward the Steelers. I think Jerome Bettis is a good guy and I wanted to win. A superficial reason. It would have been a better game if Seattle didn't make so many mistakes on offfense.

Yeah, I missed first quarter, but I saw the highlights and Seattle could've had a touchdown if not for the penalty. I actually didn't know about, or maybe I forgot about it cause I haven't watched football in a long time, but nevertheless, a pass OFFENSIVE interference.

Yeah, Bettis is a good player... a VETERAN even.

There will be NO football talk on this thread. I forbid it... ;)

You got something against football, babe? Did the big boys not want you to play?

You do realize that football IS twenty-somethings right?

But if you wanna forbid football, WE forbid you from hiding from us. :rose:

Speaking of red roses, when the heck is Valentine's Day, the most saddest day of the year?

Yes ma'am. No football or Sports talk unless everyone in the topic wants to get together for something.

THe evil day as I like to call it (based on an experience in 8th grade) is the 14th. I'm going to try and get two girls to be Valetine. Not like a couple thing or nothiong. Just a friend just being nice for now...

I find it more sad than evil... sometimes sick and pathetic, but moreover, sad. Now that I have a date, gonna be prepared for that day.... actually, that'd be useless to me... it ends up making me sad and pissin' me off at the same time anyways.

Now why on earth would I care if the "big boys" wouldn't let me play football?? Seriously, the only interesting aspect of that sport to me is the muscular guys in tight pants...aka the quarterback, kicker, and an occasional running back...but all in all....I'd rather watch hockey.

As for Valentines day...what a dumb assed holiday. I'm not saying this because I'm bitter, but really...what "special" thing happened on Valentines day? Some fat little fairy flew around and shot love arrows at people...yeah right. I understand wanting to celebrate love, but shouldn't you be doing that everyday anyway? Maybe if this world had a little more love in it there might be fewer issues. Valentines day is a holiday that has been blown totally out of proportion by corporations bent on finding another marketable day where they can make more money.

This may sound a little bit vulgar but valentines day sucks... and not in a positiv way.

I can't get it, what is so fucking special on this day...

ok, some people want to sell stuff that other people use as gifts to make other people happy (and feeling loved)...

mhm...

I still don't get it... another holiday not made for me

Wow. Seems everyone in this thread been scorned by V-day/evil day/whatever you want to call it. I was reading an article in Am New York (a free local paper in NYC) and this writer was suggestign turning Valtine Day into a new day called Valoween. A combination of Halloween and V-Day. You wear a custome and get single people together and some fun to celebrate being single. SOunds like a good idea. Not much of a fan of Halloween, but doing that sounds better than being depressed.

Valoween... party for singles... mhm... well sounds like a funny idea

i don't care much about valentine's day either way. doesn't bother me, nor is important to me. it isn't all that big around here anyway. more something i know from movies.

I WAS on the football team in High School, so I've gotten a bit of my muscularity from that. I wanted to play on defense, so I could rip some heads off, but I never got a chance to play. I wasn't ready at the time.

I should be leaving that stuff how, cause I could ruin my chances of anything by saying that, but I can't help it. I'm an honest person. If nobody likes that, they can go to freakin' hell.

Yeah, V-Day totally bites. I freakin' hate it. All that "lovey-dovey" shit makes me sick. Why must there always be something to make the single people not feel great about themselves?

Speaking of singles, I was wondering if any of you heard of the singles ring that started in Europe? Also was wondering if anybody would wear it? If you're single that is.

Well, need to get ready for work Laters!

Single ring? Hmm. Looks like a job of Google!

Couldn't remember if we're allowed to post links to websites or not, but the website is Singelringen

I remember reading this in one of our major newspapers in the area I live in and thought I'd check it out.

Personally, not even sure if I'd wear this... I mean, a lot of people know I'm single and for all I know they may as well be plotting to KEEP me that way, so I guess by wearing one of these, I feel like it's an act of desperation. I don't know... it just seems to be the craze in Europe right now and no doubt that's where Beatles came from, so the craze will probably follow into the United States... lol...

I wear no no jewelery right now. Not even a watch. Maybe I should to look more grown up, but I like to fress casual and comfortable. Not a suit and tie person. THat's for sure.

Eh, not a suit and tie person myself... of course if I ever get married, ever get a g/f FIRST, that just might be when I have to wear a suit and tie. I'm more of a jeans person, but lately I've become to liking khaki type pants since that's all I pretty much wear due to my jobs.

As far as watches go towards jewelry... well, when a robber tells you to give him all your jewelry, he DOES mean the watch too. However, I like to refer to the watch as an accessory, rather than a piece of jewelry.

Bleh, gotta work in an hour and a half... gonna be working for 8 hours straight for the first time at this second job. I'm really getting tired of having two jobs. By that, I mean I'm TIRED as hell. Most people say it's admirable that I work two jobs and go to college, but it ain't easy. I don't like to quit something, but sometimes I only quit if I must.

Well, gonna go lay down for an hour and get some sleep before I go to work.
