Veroe's idea box

My new neighbor is a Vampire

Daniel (Danny) Barrett has a sucky life. His mom and dad had split up a couple of years ago and she won custody over him, which wasn't so bad. What sucked was that she compensated for being lonely by finding religion. So now here he was in a new town with no friends. Going to a sanctimonious church every sunday. His mom searching through his things. She had found his favorite playboy magazine and told the pastor about it. That sanctimonious prick had scheduled counseling and bible study class for him. They had formed a prayer circle around him and prayed for God's help in protecting him from temptation. And then his mom had imposed a curfew of nine o'clock.

So now here Danny was turning 18 and a virtual prisoner of his life. But he was working on a way out. He worked at Happy Dog fast food restaurant seeking overtime, mowed lawns, cleaned pools, fixed creaky doors around the neighborhood whatever it took to raise money to get his own place and live his own life away from his mother and the over-bearing pastor who had proposed to her. No way in hell was he going to live in the same house as him.

Anyway the house on the market next door had finally been bought by someone, and he was hoping he could earn a few more bucks carrying some of their stuff inside. Whatever it took to get out of that house. The moving van had arrived one saturday afternoon but no one else. No family in a moving van. No little old lady in a vintage car. Nothing until a Jaguar with tinted black windows pulled in front of the car hours later that night.

So Danny approached and offered to help carry his new neighbors things inside. Imagine his shock to see that she was a knock out babe, a perfect 10, ripped right out of the pages of his playboy Danny's mom had thrown into the garbage.

Of course what Danny does not know is that his new neighbor is a Vampire, a creature of the night, a creature of sin and debauchery, and she has decided to entertain herself by seducing him luring him into the kind of sin that made God destroy sodom and gamorrah and would turn his mother and her fiance the pastor white. Yes Danny's life sucked before, but now it has just got interesting.

Very interesting Veroe... *EG* Love the idea

Thanks

It was inspired by the pic in the post above it.

Cool cool. And your post when you are so inspired.*EG*

Hi, VT, long time no see. How are you?

Is that comment about Visual inspiration, which uses more general pics for anybody, or the idea box, which uses pics specificaly because they inspire me, or is it for both, VT?

I'm not upset or anything just curious about which the lovely feedback you gave was directed at.

Both. Though this is the thread I have subbed so I keep track of this one more so than the other.

I'm doing well. Trying my hand at stringing words together again. you?

Nods

I can't complain, well not about Lit.

I had a rough day at work so my brain is grey flavored mush tonight, still I managed to write up a post for Asa, I hope she liked. Also found alot of great succubi related pics in a search for VI too.

And yesterday my internet was acting weird. It made me think I had gotten a virus. I did a full scan twice yesterday to make sure. They found nothing and now its acting all good.

Now bed looks too enticing. Good night.

A secret agent meets Space opera idea.

The galaxy is divided in a state of a cold war between the Human led Alliance of independent star systems and the large xenophobic Sakorrian Empire, but this cold war is heating up. Alliance intelligence has had leads of the Sakorrians developing a superweapon that could tip the scales of power and mean the defeat and conquest of the Alliance. Unless Agent John Harrier can stop it. He found one of the slave race: Nokiri scientists that the Sakorrians were forcing to work on the weapon. Now they just have to get back to Alliance space.

Even if the do make it back, they may just find the fragile Alliance shattered with old feuds and rivalries simmering just under its surface. If John and his Nokiri defector doesn't act fast their bringing their information on the superweapon to the Alliance may not matter much at all.

Thinking of trying out my defunct thread Welcome to Allendale: Vampire Central USA again. Only I can't decide if I want to do it as a one on one again or as a group thread this time.

Welcome to Allendale: Vampire Central USA
Bethany Aldred is the new Queen of a Vampire clan on the ropes, the Bathorists, a long-time enemy of her clan has defeated their sire and the majority of their elders. so knowing it was only a matter of time before the Bathorists came to finish the clan off she decides to use the Clan's wealth and purchase the majority of the small town of Allendale in America.
Allendale was a dying town, with the lumber mill closed down and the fishing the worst its ever been. Most of the people have left for the city, and the future was looking economically grim for Allendale until a woman from out of town swooped in and bought most of the property for sale, doubling the population with bus loads of her people, and injecting new cash and new hope into the struggling economy of the town. The catch was learned shortly after Bethany and her people arrived in a national press conference where she announced that they were honest to god vampires.
Ethan Kingsley's family had been one of the original founders of Allendale, and a Kingsley had served the town in some fashion ever since, and now with Ethan the tradition was continued as town Sheriff. Now he's become the unofficial liason between the original human citizens of Allendale and its would be saviors. The truth was he didn't mind the extra job, these folk were not blood-sucking monsters like most of the townsfolk thought, and there was something about Bethany...
However, the Bathorists finishing off the clan may have been forestalled by the unexpected move of its new queen in allowing the world know of their existence, but Sire of the clan Dumas Bathory was determined to eradicate the Aldred clan even if it meant slaughtering the entirety of the unknowing human sheep that young Aldred Bitch chose to sheild herself amongst.

I've been thinking over a story idea dealing with a fictional pantheon of gods styled after mythological Greece but set in medieval fantasy world like LotR or D&D. So it'll work like it does for Greek mythology with the gods being very active in the lives of their mortal worshippers only the setting is different.

I was mulling the idea of basing it loosely off a the illiad meets romeo and juliet meets the Hobbit, but I haven't figured out how to make it seamless yet. It probably needs more time on the backburner.

Let me know when you get it worked out in your mind sounds great... Run any ideas by me always up for a good brainstorming

I'm of two minds on it actually. I'd like to make it flow like a fantasy novel with connections and secrets underneath the rping about the nature of the world, magic, their godhood...but that's alot of pressure on my writing partner to keep up with it all.

Most of my threads I try to keep fairly small and easy for my cowriter to get into, the two epic threads I had going relied upon the mass appeal and recognition of the Star Wars franchise to overcome the sheer size of it, and the other started out small with me and my cowriter adding more and more to it as we went along, but this will be truly EPIC with a huge number of npcs and references to keep up with.

I dunno about it. It may be too much to ask of someone.

But I just can't shake the idea or the writing challenge of this.

Just my two cents...

Personally I adore the idea. Execution may seem tricky. But if you were to create the Gods separate from already existing ideas, it may be easier than you realise. Don't let past mishaps make you shy away from the idea...it has a lot of potential. :)

As I already have some characters that were basically elemental Gods and Goddesses from another site I would be more than willing to help you with it hun They were technically a pseudo modern day "family" but could easily change them for you to a LotR kind of setting. Any help you want feel free to let me know I would love to write in an srp like that.

I think what I'll do is I'll start off with the character and world-building and organically work on it here in my idea box and so you guys can put in your two cents with constructive criticism.

Pantheon of the gods

The Elder gods

Asterantha-The Sun god, Emperor of the gods, God of light, often said to seem aloof and haughty towards the lower being and too concerned with the greater good than the individual good. Sees the world as an ant farm-his ant farm.

Hathorea-Earth goddess, Wife to Asterantha and Emperess of the gods. Goddess of fertility, warm and compassionate to the lower races a constant mediating voice to her husband. Sees the world as nursery and the lower races as raucous grandchildren.

Salaradne-The Sea goddess, sister to Hathorea. Like the sea itself she suffers bipolar mood swings calm and inviting one moment unforgiving and vengeful the next.

Erenbreal-the goddess of fire, sister to Hathorea. Blacksmith and tinkerer of the gods. Huge hulking muscular goddess and plain of face, forever self-conscious of her appearance and holding petty jealousies of the other goddesses beauty.

Cassaldren-The sky god, brother to Hathorea. Afflicted with Attention Disorder, flighty. Forgetful, fun-loving, and clumsy.

Vasceres-The Greater Moon Goddess, Sister to Asterantha. goddess of darkness. Ambitious, cold, scheming. Jealous of her brother's preeminence.

Pantheon of the gods

The 2 most improtant of the younger gods

Valain-God of the lesser moon, Bastard son of Vasceres. The god of Doom and destruction. The circumstances of his birth and the identity of his father is a mystery. Controlled and manipulated by his mother. Seen with Suspicion by the other gods for the well known schemes and ambitions of his mother, for they all result in him taking her brothers throne. A paraiah among the gods.
This would be the character I'd play.

Sarrana-Goddess of love and beauty, adopted princess of Asterantha and Hathorea. Naieve of the ways of the world and a shameless romantic, coddled and sheltered by her parents.
the character my cowriter would play (subject to their modification)

Pantheon of the Gods

1 more of the younger gods

Barasta-The God of humor and mischief, God of theives, the jester, the prankster, the trouble-maker. Only friend to Valain. Always cheerful, but also unfortunately a klyptomaniac and a coward.

A note about the nature of the gods and the power of the gods

They are not omniscient nor are they omnipotent. That being said they are by far the most powerful of creatures in this world, but they do have limits and weaknesses.

They are not perfect. They are normal people, who do not age, who do not get sick, who are millenia old, and are by no means perfect. They make mistakes and accomplish triumphs just as anyone else would in their long long lives.

They are static in life. They do not understand death and loss and growing old as well as the mortal races do who have to accept those things as a fact of life. As a result when a mortal they know or cared for dies or moves on they don't handle it as well as mortals would. (though some of them more than others).

Their power is based on bending the rules of physics adjusting them to get the desired effect such as adjusting the electrical charge and conductivity of the particles of dust in the air to zap someone with lightning. Adjusting the pull of gravity on their body in order to fly around like superman. They can not do things that are impossible by the rules of physics like bringing back the dead healing massive injuries or curing insanity. (Though there are loopholes one can do such things if one wanted to pay the steep price and/or effort involved in such feats)

Just because Hathorea has the Earth goddess moniker it does not mean she cannot summon storms or zap people with lightning it just means she is nowhere near as skilled at doing so as her brother the Sky god Cassaldren and vice versa for him and summoning earthquakes and causing rockslides. Such monikers are an expression of talent not ability.

Pantheon of the Gods

The Younger gods

Arabella-Goddess of War and Victory, Captain of the gaurd in Asterantha's court. The gods' strategist, and general, and their messenger, and agent. Some say the strongest of all the younger gods. The goddess most often involving herself in the affairs of the mortal races. Using her power over kings and warlords to purge the land of those deemed too much a detriment to the greater good by Asterantha. Saving some and dealing out the gods judgment on others. A tomboy shunning more feminine things. Her fashion sense is practical and martial.

Thanks go to Asa for giving me the character and thanks again go to her for being such a sport and allowing me to fit it in better in the world.

Pantheon of the Gods

The Elder gods

Rangeura-Goddess of the forest, twin to Ranguel. Gardener of the gods, lives a virtually hermetic lifestyle within her forest sanctuary only contact being that of her twin brother. Staid and shy. Known as the mother of healing arts to the mortal races.

Ranguel-God of beasts. twin to Ranguera. wildman of the gods, lives a nomadic lifestyle though regularly visiting his sister's forest sanctuary. Known to be father of werewolves.

The younger gods

Drasavan-God of balance, the judge and lawkeeper of the gods. Asterantha's majordomo. Severe and anal-retentive. Suffers OCD.
