Succubus-as an erotic horror characterization 101
Selma Hayek's Snake Dance in From Dusk til Dawn
This is how I'd like a succubus to be played in a thread I do Yes I know that Selma's character in the movie is a vampire but the attitude in this matches what I want. I want an erotic horror characterization to them like in this. Too often succubi are played as just uber-bimbos, and I don't think that's a very compelling characterization for them.
They're predators. Sex isn't just a pastime to them it's how they hunt and survive. So they'd use their inherent sensuality in their body language and motions to lure their prey in. Pay attention to the way Selma walks in this, the way her hips sway, her facial expressions. All of which promise equally unlimited pleasure and untold damnation like a spider climbing up its web towards the fly it just snared. A succubus knows by instinct like predators in the wild do how to stalk their prey and how to get in close and then how to pounce for the kill.
Yes they have no inhibitions about sex whatsoever but that doesn't mean its put in your face. No a succubus lets you dig deeper and deeper for those treasures until you've found you've dug your own grave.
A Succubus never loses control of a sexual situation even when she is being submissive, even when her prey is being rough and aggressive and brutal in their fucking of her. She allows her prey be dominant and aggressive with her for she knows she can turn the tables at any moment and revels in the sinful (not just in lecherousness) state of rage and passion and violence she's brought her prey to.
A succubus can kill in a one night stand, but takes greater pleasure in luring and corrupting her prey deeper and deeper into a state of sin and not just lust but greed, violent jealousy, obsession, infidelity, pride, and overall corruption. Then when she grows tired of her prey she devours their soul where previously it was only small tastes of the feast to come, and she takes measures to make her prey's very last time extraordinary.
A Succubi's victims aren't just their chosen prey but their prey's friends, family, and acquaintances. She enjoys causing her prey to damage the bonds they have with their loved ones, to ruin the foundations of his stability. She may taunt one, or tempt one, or devour one, but only so much as it causes damage to her chosen prey.
A succubus is supremely confident in her sexuality. She never has to say it out loud. She never has to play it up. She is sexuality incarnate. She exudes carnal sin just standing still silent. Where pornstars and sluts are obvious in their intentions she is subtle and sensual and knows by predatory instinct when to be so and when to make it obvious to their prey what she wants.
Being a demon a Succubus ruins everything she touches and enjoys doing so-it turns her on like no other aphrodisiac.
I want something dark, and foreboding in its tone, yes...something thermonuclear hot in the sex department, but also dangerous, predatory, and malicious too.
I don't care about the horns, the spade-pointed tail, the bat wings, and talons either. In fact I think A succubus would be more of a shape shifter and that is her natural form but she does all her hunting in disguise. I think its much more effective when she looks like another human...and her prey has no idea...yet.
