Veroe's world of geeky things

Still, I know it's been canceled, but really, making them Aliens? The title says Mutant, not alien. Freaking Michael Bay. If you want a good live action turtles movie let Joss Whedon do it. He's not God or anything, but the language the Turtles use and the general feel of their world is something he's equipped to handle.

And Raph, always Raph. Same reason I prefer Wolverine to Cyclops I think, plus I always thought Sai's were badass.

To be fair everyone hates Cyclops and loves Wolverine. Cyclops is just a dick.

My rage at Michael Bay is how he screwed up the Transformers.

But if we're talking about directors that screw up a franchise...then how about the king of them all...Joel Schumacher.

:rolleyes:Mr. Bay not soooo bad now-comparatively speaking.

Not everyone hates him. I like him. I'm not sure what made him a dick now...probably Emma's influence.:(

Even back in the day. He just pushed people around and couldn't back it up. I mean Storm beat him in a duel to lead the X-men and she had no powers at the time. At least now he can kick some ass.

Joel Schumacher only screwed up with Batman and Robin, I actually don't hate Batman Forever. As for Raph, he's not emo, he's hot headed and for some reason feels left out of the group. It's because his name doesn't end with an "O" I guess.

As for Bay and Transformers, the first wasn't horrible. Not great, but not awful. The second sucks beyond all recognition. The third wasn't as bad as the second, but really, did anyone buy Patrick Dempsey as a villain or that model as an actress? So many problems.

That's Bay for you. Pretty girl + explosions= movie. I love seeing a girl bent over fixing a motorcycle as much as the next guy, but it doesn't necessarily make a good movie.

I've never thought of Cyclops as a dick...I always thought of him as a pansy. Personal vendetta I suppose...my face turtle's always been a toss up between Don and Michaelangelo.

As for Bay....I love the transformers even after the lackluster movies.

Also, batsuit nipples. That is all.

The crazy thing about Bay is some of his movies I really enjoy. I can watch The Rock or Armageddon pretty much any time and enjoy them.

Kind of the same thing with Schumacher, he's got a few interesting movies that I can see more than once.

For as awful as the dialogue is for Freeze in that movie, I thought Schwarzenegger did a good job with his facial acting when he wasn't speaking. His ability to emote with his face and eyes during the quiet moments as Freeze was actually pretty good.

I enjoyed The Rock and at a time I enjoyed Armageddon for what it was.

As for Schumacher, I think the only other movie I saw of his was Phone Booth and I barely remember it.

Raph. I even had a Raph costume when I was liddle...r.

And yes, I utterly detest Bay and his Bayformers.

This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-huDrDiMwJU is what Transformers should be like. Not Bay's... abomination.

On the subject of the Transformers: Whom is your favourite 'Bot and 'Con? Or independent for that matter.

Ease that rage Rider. The project has been cancelled. Now if you want to look at bad Turtle renditions, there Part III and that Next Mutation show.

Also out since we're on the topic, favorite turtle?

Mine's Raph.

Mike. Always was growing up, no way I could jump ship now.

When I was a kid I recognized that in cartoons edged and blunt weapons acted the same. To me that meant Donatello had the best weapon with its reach. Plus he was the smart one. While I wanted to be Don, I did love to see Raph though.

Knowing little about the Transformers franchise I'd have to go with the Dinobots, specifically Grimlock. I think that was his name. Melee oriented giant robots plus dinosaurs. I was sold.

Don is cool, hell you basically need him to beat the Rocksteady in the first game.

As from Transformer, I always liked Soundwave. I always liked how he sounded, shame what became of him.

Grimlock and Soundwave are my top two. Jazz from the old cartoons was cool too.

That was just the easiest, (and best way.) You could do it with Mike or Leo as well. While Raph was only useful in that game for three things.

Aerial enemies.
Dying to grant you more swimming time.
The technodrome Spike pit. Don was my favorite. And no one likes the leader of any team or group ever.

Cyclops /Wolverine
Mr. Fantastic /Human torch
Captain America / Iron man
Superman / Batman
Oracle / Huntress

Responsible people with tactical skills, intelligence and the ability to create a plan and stick with it are boring, and no one likes them compared to the I get things done my way, maverick, rule-breaker.

I prefer Reed, Steve, and Babs.

But Cyclops is a dick. An over powered Dick. Who keeps cheating on his wife. Wolverine is only marginally better as a person. Ororo (Storm) was the best leader) And the best person is probably Kurt. can't actually think of any moment he murdered a friend, or team mate, turned out a family member, condemned someone for nothing, cheated on a lover, or ruined someone's life.

Though I guess Pete's pretty good too. If only he weren't Gay.

Top ten heroes. In no particular order.

1. Captain Atom (Nathaniel Adam)
Captain Atom is a man out of time. He's had to live through a number of new times and universes. Never able to really come to grips with changing times and learning new mores. And he still manages to be a hero. he has (potentially) the most power in the DCU (short of being say The Spectre.) And attempts to use it in real situations and real settings. He ends wars. Saves planets. Cured a terminal child with Cancer. Serves the military. He takes oaths seriously. Even Monarch came from the thought of the greater good. He also married and tried to reform a supervillain. Also the basis for Dr. Manhattan

2. Red Arrow/ Arsenal/ Speedy (I) (Roy Harper Jr.)
I could say an awful lot about My Boy Roy. I could talk about him kicking Heroin. Cold turkey. Alone. And never getting back on. (Until that Rise of Arsenal piece of crap.) I could talk about him being a single father, and doing a damn good job of it. I could talk about the fact that despite his incredibly long list of lovers. He never cheats on a single one of them. And almost all of them seem to like him after. Most even break up with him first. But I'll just say. He's a very ordinary, very good man, who does the right thing. Even when it would hurt him.

3. Captain America (Steve Rogers) I shouldn't have to say anything about this. I've had this Talk.

4. Deadpool (Wade Wilson) Wade just speaks to me. He's funny, and I've liked him since Circle Chase. He isn't necessarily a Hero. But he gets my vote.

5. Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) In a way Ollie is one of my guilty pleasures. Like that friend you have in a frat.

6. Storm (Ororo Munroe) I liked her a lot more before she got married to Black Panther. That was just an awful move Marvel.

7. The Shadow (Lamont Cranston.) I've liked The Noir style forever, and same for the old Pulp style. The shadow was just damn cool for me.

8. The Tick (The Tick) Nigh invulnerable, super strong, with Dramatic Power! The Tick is one of my favorite heroes' Not for doing the right thing. Not for any sense of story or danger. Not for any real sense of heroism. But for being something that makes me appreciate the absurd.

9. Oracle (Barbara Gordon) If you don't know how Barbara Gordon, was humiliated, stripped, and shot in the spine by the joker, and used that to become one of the not THE most influential person in DC comics. Go pick up a copy of Alan Moore's The Killing Joke, and then Birds of Prey by Gail Simone. Thank me later.

10. Batman (Bruce Wayne.) Cause he's the Goddamn Batman; that's why.

Favorite Bot...duh optimus with Springer in the second generation.

Though I thoroughly enjoyed both Grimlock and Kupp as characters.

For fave decepticon...Megatron and Starscream I love the dynamic between them from the 80's cartoon. One of the gold standards of how big bad and cronie should relate to eachother for me, and the second gen...Cyclonus.

Really liked Cyclonus. He knew Galvatron was totally nuts but he was the type who followed Galvatron's orders regardless of how nuts they were, even did his damnedest to make them work. That's loyalty to the cause above himself or the man no matter how flawed...I respect that.

Not boring to me.

Showboating hot dog mavericks only get the glory and attention.
Because the responsible ones with tactical skills intelligence and the ability to create a plan and stick with it don't care how many fans are in their fan club, how everybody in fan forums call them lame or a "dick"...that is not important to them in the slightest. So let Tony have his press coverage and marketing engine and cracking jokes about how old Cap is that everybody but me laughs at and twitter followers and facebook friends. Steve will go home and not lose a minute of sleep over it. All he'll care about is that the world is safe from the forces of evil for one more day.

That is why he is NOT boring, not to me. Indeed he's the most fascinating guy on the team.

Not boring to me either. Which is why I list Cap. But not Iron man. I'm just saying as a generalised viewpoint. MOST people pick so and so over such and such because.

It just bothers me. I know it doesn't bother Cap. Or Supes. It might bother Cyclops. He's been written to care what people think of him in relation to wolverine. I dunno why. Can't be Jean. If you love someone. You don't cheat on them that many times. I can buy one, "But you were dead!"

But she was alive when he cheated with Emma.

Dunno I stopped reading X-men regularly around the time Emma came into the picture...don't get me wrong I liked Scott and Emma....but....something just wasn't magical about the X-books anymore. Only started rereading them retroactively because I'm a Whedon-drone. (Joss is boss afterall)

I Think they wrote Cyclops more and more as a dick to keep him in line with the character in the movies really which just pisses me off the only character they committed more egregious character assasination to is Hank Pymm.

And don't get me started on how the X-men movies screwed it up because of the gravitas of Hugh Jackman and the nonexistant attention the filmakers gave the other characters in what was supposed to be a team movie.

They should have just titled the first three Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman And his whacky sidekicks the....what are they called again...the x-men...well that's kinda sexist isn't it....okay okay I'll just read the damned title of your sexist movie...Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman and his whacky sidekicks the  X-men....but it's really about :heart:Wolverine:heart:

I was really concerned the formula of those X-men movies would've been the one they used in Avengers...which would mean Cap (my favorite character) being the ahem "boring" one...would've gotten Cyclopsed (Only there to be the butt of jokes before getting hit on the head and captured for Ironman to rescue him:mad:) fortunately this time around they actually made the team the star and gave us a much more balanced movie between the characters in which Cap was given several scenes to shine. Not as much as I'd like but enough for me to feel they respected his character rather than cyclopsing him.

All of this. Yes. I love Wolverine as much as the next guy and he does have a load of background you can explore, but can I please see some more of some of the other X-men? I'd love to see some more of Gambit, Nightcrawler, Storm, and Beast. I'd also like to see Psylocke and Jubilee at all. I know Jubilee sucks, but I liked her, leave me alone.

I think each hero on Avengers having their own movie first helped a lot. It gave each character the background to stand on their own.

Also just a word on the X-Men movies. Fox.
