I havent read all these help files, but I'm sure you can find a setting with good audio and small file size.

Try reducing the sampling rate (check out the help file for info).

no its not helpless.... when i record with that and a smaller size it wont let me hear my self....... so i will find something else to record with......
not at all helpless tho, i will spend time getting it together tomm... after this long wkend..... and u hush have a little faith......

i have Windows ME..and i dunno what everyone else has but u can use the Sound Recorder..its at...programs - accessories - entertainment - sound recorder...or Windows Movie Maker has an audio only option...just some suggestions

Sound Recorder

Sound Recorder often adds static and other noise into the recording. You can hear it in some of the posts here. Mine does that, but I get clear audio from the professional software programs I use.

Mel just needs to reduce the recording quality a little. Cool Edit is good software. The wait will be worth it.

If youre on windows the easy way is:

Start | Programs | Accessories | Entertainment | Sound Recorder.

Keep the audio pretty short, only a few seconds. Once youve got the wav, zip it and attach it to the post. It cant be more than 100k (102400 bytes).

If youve got more fancy software like Mel, you can pretend you cant use it and tease everyone by not posting.
