Voice

What sort of voice do you think a dominant should have? How about a submissive?

I started reading through the thread and thought 'Hell, I should post to this!!' so if reiterate something which has all ready been said, please forgive me.

My voice is slow, quiet and Toni Braxton husky. When I am scening with my grrl/boi it becomes even more quiet, more concise and kind of clipped. My grrl tells me I can trance her with just my voice, so I guess that's a good thing.

The voices that get to me?

A guy's voice that is somewhat resonant, not deep, but masculine and husky. Otherwise I just want to burst out laughing if they are trying to scene with me. (i know, rude, huh?)

A woman's voice. Oh low and throbbing contralto...everytime!! A woman who can walk up behind me with a voice that oozes dark velvet, blood and chocolate will make me melt into a puddle by her feet with just a word.

It's more than the voice, though. A person who speaks confidently and REAL will always win me over as opposed to those who hesitate or act a part. You can tell the difference.

As for my petlings? My boy is soft spoken with a light tenor which trembles just so when he is scening. He always speaks precisely and he has a bit of an accent.

My girl is an alto..warm and sensual as summer rain. When she is in her zone, her voice gets a bit breathless and quavery...just lovely.

OK I am off to finish reading..

Xelebes,

Okay, finally got around to it. I feel like a dork, but what the heck, none of you know my granny anyway, right? ;->

(link removed)

Catch it fast I don't know how long it'll be around.

Talking to a void? That's ok. I do it all the time - talking to myself. Some people think I am crazy when I do that but yeah... *shrugs*

X,

I talk to myself plenty. Also the dog. Traffic. Laundry, paperclips and other inanimate objects that occasionally forget that as the human, I'm the boss.

None of that bothers me, however, because there's generally no one else around to hear it. All I could think talking into the phone for pagoo was how I had no idea what to say and that there would be no response back from it no matter what I said but that didn't mean no one could hear me.

Ah, blushing and embarrassment are good for the complexion!

Xelebes, I couldn't get your recording to play.

Pet, I also LOVED your descriptions.

And bridgeburner, you sound rather like me! Especially your inflection and style of speaking, if not everything about your voice. Maybe a geographic thing?

Are you using WinAmp?

Could be, where are you from originally? I grew up in the South ---- North Carolina and Texas --- but I've been in California for about 15 years, six of them in Sacramento and the other 9 here in Los Angeles.

Okay, now I have to sit down. I'm in shock at how long I've lived in Los Angeles. It doesn't seem that long until I actually count it out. I'm just going to put my head down and breathe for a few minutes.

I may have to try the Pagoo thing...It just looks like something fun to do and might be fun to hear what I sound like to others.

So, Bridge, how much "unlimited, unsolicited" mail do you get from the Pagoo Partners? lmao

Esclava :rose:

Esclava,

I don't know if I get any spam or not. I've got a dummy email account that I use for nothing but webregistrations when I have to actually receive confirmations and passwords. So, if you don't have one, just set one up, use it to register with pagoo, get your password and then don't use that email address for anything important.

Gotcha, Bridge! I have one, I should probably check it on occasion and empty it...lol

I'll try that, tks. You will probably hear the "Texas Gal" in my voice, but that's ok, too! :)

Voice?

And AngelicAssassin - oh my......I "hear" him as the sexiest "intelligent" voice I've ever heard....Leonard Nimoy/Mr. Spock - especially when he is explaining something. And the wit... Caustic or not, his words will get your attention (and the attention of something else if you are really listening :p )

Ahhhhh...the effects of voices ... enjoy!

Esclava :rose:
Thank you.

i'd find a pic of getting dressed up as Spock to go to a Vampire Ball for Fasching in the distant past, but then ...

LOL

That's it! Both ends and a bit of the middle of CA for most of my life. (Born in So Cal.) My mother's from Texas and I've spent a little time there, too.

Now what I want to know is from AA. How does one 'Fasch'?

Seems inappropriate somehow, to fast at a vampire's ball. Though I guess how one fasches is more like the feast before the presumed famine?

(Nothing to do with the root for the word fascist, then?)

If one feasts well, one might survive quite a while between feedings, don'tcha thaaaank?

Two more links ...

Can't believe i found this one.

Forgive Google's awkward translation.

No, Fasching is a lot older ... 'nuff said?

Older than Spock, certainly, don'tcha thaaaank? (So you've been to Texas, I take it?)

The Rocky Horror ref there on that first link takes me back. Such a Relief when that movie came out.

Love that first line from Google 'Vampire have economic situation?" Whaaaaa....?

Thanks!
Interesting reading.

Voice is very important to me. A lower male voice, I love. The man I'm with right now has a deeper, smooth voice, full of emotion. Hearing him speak to his son is the sweetest thing in the world, and I can just sit on the phone, and have, just listening to it. He's an amazing father. I'm learning so much, just listening to that interaction.

Personally, I hate my speaking voice. I have been blessed with an amazing singing voice. It's a higher-pitched voice. Yes, I giggle, a lot. My 'little brother' that I've spoken about once before declared once that I giggle more than I talk. The man I'm with clarified that it was more like 50/50.

Anyways, He loves my voice, loves to hear me talk, adores my giggle and loves to say things that make me all flustered. Then, He makes a comment about learning to translate the squeaks and squeals when I'm especially embarrassed. I just don't get it.

Fort Hood for about 8 months, but off and on in the South for about half my life.

"Don'tcha thaaank" comes from a gentle gibe i received for occassionaly slipping into a southern drawl.

AA's voice

ok, occasional southern drawl, whispers sometimes at opportune moments (from Cafe thread).... Anything else you'd care to share about your voice? Someone here offered some conjecture, which you graciously thanked her for, without further explication. Are we to infer that you do sound like Spock, with an occasional souther drawl? [*]

i believe anyone would appreciate recognition as an intelligent individual.

No, not Spock.

Other than that, think relentless in a velvet glove.

When i turn "it" on; consciously, or otherwise; i seldom lose someone's attention.

Somehow I don't think I'd laugh at AA even if he sounded like Mickey Mouse. Coming from him it would still sound sinister and sexy. and scary.

But what Esclava said was a sexy intelligent voice, rather like Nimoy/Spock. I don't think she meant so much robotic or something as truly like Nimoy. do you remember what his voice sounds like? Lazy, deep, low. It's a sexy voice. A little too deep and low for my taste but sexy nonetheless.
