holding tightly to a tree
since the day of their birth

Some leaves hold fast to one another
a barren tree with just two leaves
on the ground clutters the others

Some leaves prefer to fly
spread out like a sail
and riding the winds high

Some leaves defy gravities call
rise to the heavens on a thermal
leaves that do not ever fall

When do you decide the themes and what are the entry deadlines for these competitions? They look like fun, might inslpire me to actually try and do something artistic again.

The themes are decided by the winner of the current contest, so the winner doesnt compete but runs the next contest. You generally have one week to make a piece to submit and yes they are loads of fun.

At the moment there is 2 art threads. This Spin-off one looks destined to be an erotic only art contest while the other contest which is still open for submissions (Check out the Contest IV thread in the Visual Artists Corner) is more of a general so can be of erotic and non-erotic nature.

It's not that bad, not all of it anyway. You'd be surprized, there are quite a few very talented artists on the GB. Most of them won't post outside of there because many other parts of Lit immediately treat GBers like thugs. Just a little something to think about.


Fabulous work! I thought Wet was good, Leaf has been even better. I didn't read the whole thread, are there links to bigger pictures? Some of are in denial about aging eyes. *grin*

as far as I am aware..all are welcome AND encouraged to participate in the art contests.

The images are links to larger pics....they are thumbnail links...clik on one...it should open a new window with the image bigger.

Which is why I said some parts of Lit. There are other parts that actively exclude those from the GB. Once bitten, twice shy and all that.

I have images turned off, so all I get are links to the thumbnails. No big, I've already made my choice and voted. One of them resonated more than the others.

I've been posting there for nearly six years and I get ignored most of the time. Sometimes it's better that way.

YES!! We had 42 votes before we posted the three threads in the GB, the AH, and the Playground. Now we're up to 59!

You are right. I shouldn't let a few bad experiences make me weary(esp. since it looks like I shouldn't be taking this Matthew Craig character seriously).

There are some very friendly and welcome people there as well, I have posted in the "geeks" thread and they are a bunch of sweethearts.....being a dork I fit right in


Like DG said, everyone is welcome to enter the contests and to enjoy the art. If you know any artist who might be interested please let them know that they are more than welcome to join in. The more the merrier.

Yeah, that's what did the trick with the last contest too. I had threads in all the forums. Think we should do this for each of the contest to generate votes and let litzenz know that we are here.
