In the mean time, there is honor and purpose in living and providing for family and in some cases, others. So, staying focused on the things we can influence, putting aside resources against future need and ignoring those things that distract us from the two aforementioned activities that may be the only thing we need to do.

Happy Sunday! I enjoy our messages. I think it was the first century Greek philosopher who observed that there is a great pile over there that we can do nothing about. He pointed out also that there is a small pile over here that we can do something about, and that this is where our focus needs to be. The things that we give our focus to expand and become more interesting and fill our hopes and aspirations. The things we pay less or no attention to decline to insignificance. And that is why you and I lead more satisfying existences than the naysayers and the name callers.


I received a couple of phone calls yesterday from two long time friends who have Stuff going on in their lives. I knew where to do the research for one of them and already had previous experience with what to do for the other one. Both of them felt much better after we had spoken. Found, not lost. I was pleased that in the simple sharing of my experience, I was able to help them to bring order from chaos. I think that this, along with tending to our own, is what we are supposed to do, and what we lost when chasing so-called Civilization.
