What are you fuckers reading now?

I just finished the third of the "The Stranger Times' series. Very funny urban fantasyImagepipe_13.jpg

I wasn't liking Vaster then I did. Sad little tale mind.

Next up Lead Sister: The Story of Karen Carpenter by Lucy O'Brien.
I love Lauren Groff! She's opening a bookstore in Florida "to discover new ideas and writers, to find your community, to hang out and drink coffee, to be a locus of resistance to the forces of suppression that are so strong and loud right now in Florida." I was an early supporter and have some swag coming.

How fabulous. I'm tempted to try one of her others, can you recommend one?

They need to take that locus of resistance to the forces of suppression movement to Alabama and Texas as well. 🤓

I rearranged my bookshelves to put only unread books on my desk shelves. I have classics, favorite authors, and some unknown stuff with interesting titles. I am undecided what to read next. I might just click an ebook. With thrift store shopping I accumulated 5 Daphne du Maurier books and haven't read one yet, so I may eventually start one.
I started Rebecca. A hundred pages in, I don't see the supernatural thriller yet. It's just boring English stuff. But there's a movie of it, Hitchcock style.

Started to read this book and also reading my research paper, nicely written by these guys https://ukwritings.com/. It's such a pleasure to immerse myself in both literary worlds, exploring the captivating narratives of the book and delving into the insightful analysis presented in my research paper. With the expert assistance of UK Writings, I can trust that my paper is not only well-written but also thoroughly researched and professionally crafted.

Just finished "Long Way Down" by Jason Reynolds. Holy shit! 7 out of 5 stars. This book should be required reading for every student in the US. It's a very quick read, highly recommended.

"A Little Like Waking" by Adam Rex. Also, the most recent works in The Sun by women exploring erotic potential.

Just finished The Bomber Mafia by the amazing Malcolm Gladwell and am part-way through The Law of Innocence by Michael Connelly. I was researching Eisenhower and civil rights, and came across some fascinating letters on the topic between Ike and Billy Graham.

Just in - a s/h copy of The Lyrics of Tom Waits, The Early Years. Apart from it being in excellent condition, hard back and first edition, it is a gem of heartfelt poetry. I'd never looked to see if such a book existed, having read and re-read his song lyrics for years. I'm sure he must have read Dylan Thomas at some point.
