What Are You Reading?

Mostly articles online. Stuff about politics, psychology, filmmaking, things like that. I'm also reading the current series based on The Spirit. Very good. I recommend it. Kind of a sequel series to the others. It's good. I need to catch up on comics. Haven't read anything in a while other than The Spirit. I keep meaning to get back into Batman Beyond but I have like two years to catch up on at this point. Plus there are a lot of classic series I want to read. I've read a TON of comics in my life but there are always more. There are more everyday. More good ones. It's literally impossible to keep up.

Plus I've been meaning to read Superman: Man of Steel for like ten years so I have to do that. But I just never do.

Flipping between Scotland's Jesus (Frankie Boyle) and The Meaning of Liff (Douglas Adams).

Heart of Obsidian, by Nalini Singh. {Paranormal Psy-changling novel. Paranormal romance adventure type of book, my usual kind of course. )

I've been working my way through various Pearl S. Buck novels. Finding them very interesting, and primarily love stories.

Well I think I am doing something much much better then reading and its going through the amazing and beautiful pictures of Kimleigh on her thread "come a little closer baby". Have been through only 12 pages till now and there are 100 to go. Don't want to miss even single picture so going to each page. :) wow, just amazing

Just about to finish A Confederacy of Dunces, but also reading Tequila! A Natural and Cultural History

The Killing Floor by Lee Child. I'm going to go through the entire Jack Reacher series again. The new book is out very soon I think.

I like that series, but I did't much care for the chapter length in the first five or so books. There was like 500 pages in a book, and only 12 chapters. Despite that, the books are good.

I'm reading The Intern's Handbook by Shane Kuhn. Pretty interesting.

I'm weird in that I read a bunch of books at once rather than one at a time. (I alternate titles throughout the week.)

Currently reading:

The Complete Novels of Carson McCullers. I've known she's a favorite writer of some of my favorite writers for years and just never got around to reading her. After reading The Heart is a Lonely Hunter and The Member of the Wedding, I'm regretting putting it off.

Psalms by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. This is an interesting commentary on the psalter by one of the more prominent German theologians of the twentieth century.

Battle-Pieces and Aspects of War by Herman Melville. This is Melville's first collection of poetry. It concerns itself with the American Civil War and I'm rereading it alongside Leaves of Grass for that reason. (The main difference, outside of style, I'm seeing is that Whitman is very much about the communal aspect of literature and an optimist whereas Melville is all about the life of the mind and something of a pessimist.)

The Girl With All The Gifts. Normally don't like anything dealing with zombies but I haven't been able to put the book down
