What Are You Thinking? Continued 14

You’re being difficult. It was incredible! And I went into it thinking I might not like it because of Ariana! How wrong I was
i know they were in it, i just really wanted idina and kristen...it was very good though.

I understand, but you want them 20 years ago! And there have been so many more Glindas and Elphabas on stage who have done just as well if not arguably better. Jessica Voss made an incredible elphaba.

And I think about the movie for Dear Evan Hanson… They went with Ben Platt but it ended up being the wrong choice and he was too old for the role it flopped.

One of the beauties of broadway is that these stories are told over and over with impressive talent every time.

I’ll get off my soap box now 🤣

YESSSSSSSSSS

I love Ben Platt for when it was Broadway. But he was definitely the wrong choice for the movie!!! The only poor casting choice in the movie in my opinion. But, sometimes I'm wrong

I think the casting for Wicked was just fucking fabulous!!! I went in with such low expectations, but cannot stop gushing about the masterpiece they made it into!!!!

Get on that musical soap box anytime. I'm here for it.

Age appropriate casting is a good thing

My sentiments exactly!!!

Well, while I’m here, the use of original cast members in RENT was iconic and absolutely the right choice.

And I wish they made more live stage recordings, like they did with Hamilton, which I don’t think would have transferred well to blockbuster film.

Age appropriate casting is a good thing
I like what they did with In the Heights, with Christopher Jackson ( who originally played Benny) and Lin as the Mr Softee driver and Piragüero, respectively, with age appropriate actors for their original roles.

The stage version is far more intimate, I liked changing the scope of the film to a throwback, show-stopper style.

Seeing a 35 year old Stockard Channing play Rizzo threw me off for years on what people should look like at what age

Yes!!!!! Again!!!!!!

How many people on here are actually nice people in real life? Not a dig or insult to anyone, just wondering if people here put on a show or whatever? 🤷‍♂️
I’m not any different here than I am offline. Of course, Lit gives less glimpses into work me, aunt me, etc. So the proportions are different, but that’s the only real difference.

Whether I’m considered nice is probably better answered by those I interact with though.

There's no way to describe the carnage from the LA fires. Perhaps this photo can help us understand how devastating the potential is. Taken at UCLA this afternoon.

My son sent me a video from his bedroom window this morning and it was just smoke moving across the sky. He said it just smells like smoke.
A direct quote from him - literally surrounded by three fires Pasadena, Palisades and the newest Sunset one “It’s like the pits of hell have opened up.”
