Sometimes I think the process of life is meant to hollow us out. Year after decade, we endure. We buy time, leverage our eventual fate and hope to out play the devil. We scrape by with hook, crook and swindle. We sweat and bleed and here and there we lose parts of ourself along the way. Like carving a statue from stone, what doesn't fit or isn't needed, we cut away. I'm not sure how much of the original stone remains. I can't tell what shape I am now.

Maybe it’s to make up for trying to fire us all earlier this year, or the 43 day shutdown, or maybe the probable shutdown Jan 30….or we’re going to war.

The shutdown is definitely real but I was joking about going to war.

There’s talk of a bonus for military members and someone equated that with the dining facilities serving steak and lobster. There was a time when that menu meant you were shipping out. These days it mostly means the DFAC had some extra money the gotta spend.
