What are you watching?

I'm continuing with Season 2 of Patriot on Prime. I started to think I'd seen it, but once we got to the chopped-off fingers dilemma I was sure. I'll continue with it - it's a subtle show (except for chopped-off fingers and shit), which makes it hard to remember.

I’m currently debating what to watch! Maybe I’ll watch Golden Girls or Love After Lockup.

I’ve been watching Grace, Shetland and my life is murder. They all have new seasons this month.

Movies:

Finished up a 2nd viewing of Terminator Genisys, built on a strange premise that creates an alternate version for the beginning of the franchise - for no apparent reason, except to sell more tickets. Still, taken by itself, it's a great action flick, so it's best to just forget about the rest and enjoy the mayhem. The actors playing Sarah and Kyle are fine, but can't hold a candle to Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn.

Next up was the excellent new flick The Rip, again pairing Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. This is a tense, suspenseful flick with a healthy number of adrenaline-fueled thrill ride sequences. The first half builds the mystery and creates a scenario about who the bad cop is, and the second half twists through believable plot turns to get to the truth.
Awesome!

Now I'm halfway through Rise of the Footsoldier, a British flick that tracks a guy from football hooligan to thug, to serious criminal. Unfortunately, the hero to root for is kind of an asshole, but it's engrossing and very watchable. I have the sequel on tap, and I will most likely watch that as well.

Couple of movies:

Rise of the Footsoldier 2 (watched the first yesterday). This was 'sold' as a revenge flick, where the hero Carlton is supposed to come out of retirement to avenge his three slain friends, but that storyline never materialized. Just violent Brit thuggery as usual. Fine with me.

Next was a great, gritty flick, Green Room. Not as bloody as I was led to believe, but the story is an alt band agrees to play for a white supremacist crowd. One of the members sees someone murdered, and they mayhem begins. Strange to see Patrick Stewart in something like this, but he was not just a cameo, and everybody needs a check. Simple, but excruciatingly tense.
