What do you like about AmPics?

I think for me as much as anything it comes down to the freedom of it. The fact that those who care to share can express the freedom of whatever it is they wish to share as little or as much as they want to. I think it's the freedom of those who get a chance to enjoy and watch for them to express that freedom and express their feelings and it's just I like the openness the fact that all of us are comfortable enough to be able to share things together thoughts feelings pictures that kind of thing so I guess to me it's kind of a fun community of fun overall experience. As silly as it sounds to me it feels a little bit like family.

These are definitely favourites of mine too. The sharing of photography styles and editing processes through these threads has been a great way to explore a more artistic approach to my pics. It's great to hear of others enjoying these things as well.

I began on AmPics in January 2014 to surprise my husband for a big birthday. The surprise was on me, as he didn't notice me for a month until I made the big reveal. HA. In the meantime though, I made friends and indulged my exhibitionism.

I post not just to show my body but to share myself. It turns out I reveal a great deal in my replies, and that part of my motivation is to be known, not just to be seen. I value the opportunity to be brave and bold, to be wholeheartedly myself, and to improve my photography.

I treasure my friendships with men and women from around the world, ranging in age from 20's to 80's. I'm 62, and this is a place where age matters less than in many of my real world encounters. Here I can be an advisor [Mother Superior -- HA -- "how can I encourage my wife/girlfriend to be more kinky?"], a supporter through life's joys and tribulations, and a learner. Although I really wish some of you would offer editing classes so I could learn MORE!!!

In describing my motivation, I've named a lot of things I like about AmPics. I guess my favorite thing would be the sense of community, and the kindness. Not many online forums are this inclusive.

At first it was just on a whim to see if I could do it because I spent most of my life being a wall flower and the older I get, the bolder I get. I've always loved making things and I'm a little quirky. Plus I think being creative is a great outlet.

My favorite thing is the camaraderie. I adore the people here, they are creative and fun!!

I agree it's a great way to use your creativity and quirkiness.

The simplest reason for coming to AmPics is to see and be seen, more of the former at first until I got caught up in the latter. I was on Lit for the stories, reading and writing, and the forums were something I didn't pay attention to. When I realized that joining was free and that pics of women were on this thread, it was easy to get snared. Posting was not as easy. MsG and I were having vicarious fun (all on my account until she decided to get her own), and it took a while before we thought it was truly safe to post here. Women who enjoy getting my comments and those from others about their sexy poses--what hetero male wouldn't like that? And getting to put up a nude shot of my own without the ladies screaming or calling the cops--a real-life Fantasyland. That may be a favorite thing about the place, but the people are obviously a big favorite too. The regular visitors/posters/commenters are all the ones who make the place feel safe, fun, and sexy. A lot of that sexy sense also comes from the everyday bodies we all have (or I have, at least). It goes beyond the nudity, though. Just the fact that Icy opened this thread and welcomed my thoughts is further evidence that the people here can find the sexiness in our thoughts too, not just in nude pics. That's my two cents worth--in five dollars worth of gab.

I've been fortunate enough to receive many of your thoughtful compliments over my time here. I must say I have enjoyed seeing both you and MsG become more active here and participate in the art threads.

I like to hope there's a lot of genuine pics here from the good people of lit. There's all different styles from quick snaps to the more set up but still amateur shots.

Like quite a few have said, I like very much the warmth and appreciation for all who share. Whatever the poster's age, size, body shape, style or limits, there are people who find them beautiful and tell them so, and that's a wonderful thing.

For myself specifically, it was my husband who suggested I share pictures on Lit, to help me feel more confident in my aging frame. Some of the pics he takes of me I hate instantly. Very rarely there might be one I like straightaway. Mostly, I look at them, and don't like them much at all, but then if I revisit them a day or so later I find I see them almost with another's eye. So all this has helped me a lot to become more positive about how my body is at this stage of my life. A large part of that is the very supportive community here and their lovely responses whenever I've shared images.

I also like the creativity here, and the way people's pictures inspire others to new heights and endeavours. I think especially recently there have been pictures and thread ideas which have hugely raised the standards, but have also fostered a brilliant sense of community, all of which is rather lovely.

Icy, I like that you get us talking about this. No mystery, you all know I am here because Glendale got me into it. His stories are make believe for us. We talked about travel and maybe a nude beach years ago. My health took a big hit. I’m better but getting older and trying to get better hit me hard. The best thing was quitting the cigarettes. The stories, then his pics, and then my pics were the steps. I think I once told somebody here this was like our nude beach. It’s fun to look at the guys too. My pics are from before because I’m not so brave after. Maybe I will be, GD encourages me and how much I’ve learned from Emmy. Like GD says, it feels safe too. Being told I look perky or getting a playful pretend spank really give me a boost to my day. The people I meet here too are nice, the ones I see replying a lot. Those are both favorite things.
