At least when you are empty, it leaves room for lots of hugs to fill you up.bobsgirl said:Not much today. I'm feeling pretty much used up and empty.

Thank you, quoll.bobsgirl said:Having both my children at the dinner table at the same time for our non-traditional Easter dinner of chili and cornbread.

One summer our oven went out and it took several weeks for a replacement part to arrive. We used our grill regularly for such things as pizza, baking casseroles, and even occasionally to grill some chicken or burgers.Scalywag said:Our oven (propane) stopped igniting on friday. This is the second time this has happened....and it's only 3 years old. So my wife couldn't cook the dinner she planned.
So we ordered out chinese.....but still has the strawberry shortcake and banana cream pie.
BTW...I cooked enchiladas in our outdoor gas grill friday night....they came out pretty good.![]()
We use our Weber gas grill for all sorts of cooking. We've used it for the holiday turkeys for the last four or five years and regularly roast potatoes and vegetables to go with our grilled meats or fish.Scalywag said:yes, desperate people do desperate things.![]()
we've done pizza in a closed top charcoal grill once while camping.
we even cooked crescent rolls in an aluminum foil lined cardboard box once using charcoal. it takes a while for them to cook but when you're camping, things like that are a huge treat.

I have an old coleman propane stove....I think I bought it in 1981.....you know the ones that are all steel. Still works fine.
I just remembered something funny about the foil lined cardboard box oven. My wife and I made it at home before we left to go camping. When we started to pack, it was the first thing I brought outside and put on the sidewalk. I went in the house to get more stuff, and when I came out, someone had stopped and was putting it in their car. (I got it back)
Now who would take a foil line cardboard box off the sidewalk?![]()
