WWII-era love notes discovered...
This touches my soul to know that the family can re-live their parent's love and see a different side of their parents. History and love captured in time.
this is a bit similar to an episode of "mad about you" where paul and jaime found love notes behind their toilet. it's generally nice to know that a stranger's emotions can be felt by so many.

I'm doing my own sentimental journey today. I'm perusing a small box of letters and cards that I've kept over the many years. Little notes in cards are bringing back fond memories of my youth and reading the letters my friends have sent reminds me of how strong and deep my friendships are with this small but treasured group of women.

WWII-era love notes discovered

MONROE, Ohio, Jan 12, 2007 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A woman who purchased an old suitcase at a Toledo, Ohio, auction found it full of World War II-era love letters between a U.S. serviceman and his wife.

Terri Smith of Monroe, Ohio, bought a raggedy old suitcase for $27.50 and noticed that there were old papers inside, the Monroe Evening News reported Friday. When she opened the suitcase, she found five hundred letters written by Charles Ashton and his wife Ruthie while Ashton was serving in the U.S. Navy, the newspaper said.

Smith decided to track down Ashton and his wife, and through the help of the Internet, contacted Lynn "Dutch" Ashton, 66, one of Ashton's two sons. Ashton and his wife have both passed away, but Lynn said it was "terrific" that the letters have been discovered.

The letters were evidently overlooked when surviving family members were dividing Ruthie's possessions after her death in 2004. They were collected by a personal property liquidator, the newspaper reported.

Just imagine if they were members of lit, there are some things you shouldn't know about your parents. :p

Deciding to donate my old computer & printer to a battered women's shelter organization. If these women finally make the decision to get away from abuse, I want to do what little I can to support them.

i just got a coupon in the mail for $20 off a purchase of $20 or more at staples. i love free money!

Simply beautiful! Wow!

The wonderful people who I work with in this division. Every day it is my pleasure to work with each of them.

Watching my 8-year-old cat act like a 4-month-old kitten when she plays with string. She's my baby.

My newest dog that has been quite skiddish around me from the beginning; she is getting more trusting. Right now, she has her little head on my knee and is asleep. She's soooo cute!!! :)

Smelling the aroma of him, long after we've parted.

Simply said, I love him.

So all is good?
Yep all is good. I still think that I "broke up" with him earlier this week. It seemed like it at the time, but upon further review...We hadn't gotten into a fight or anything like that. I just really suck at relationships and am very quick to run and end things before I get in any deeper. Well, that's one part of it anyway.

How's that baby doing Quoll?

Really good, he's a porker, so full of laughs and smiles.

oh quoll! he's still adorable. Thanks for sharing. Please make a note you don't need to wait for someone to ask. I'm sure I speak for more than myself, that we'd love to have regular updates with pics.

*otherwise I have to make a note to ask on a regular basis :)*
