Getting any closer to answering that question?
your deviantart sucks. it's like a teenager with an old school rendering program.

Adding not a damn thing on-topic. Really, girls, start your own "Junior High Bitch Clique" thread.what the fuck happened to this thread? it degraded from being somewhat witty and amusing to posting retarded pics and everyone having obnoxiously large sig pics.
shame on all of you
It is good that everyone has stopped bumping this thread
LMAO.
Kitty! Lookin' good! (and way better without the huge sig. I mean, seriously, you were giving me sig envy...and that doesn't jive with Dr Freud/Fraud.)
Such a shame.. This thread needs more bumps.

Tek!!!!!!!! Good morning handsome, fellow! I've missed you sooooooooooo!
AD, what experience do you have with modeling and rendering software?

everything from photoshop, 3d studio max, sketch-up, etc. i used to intern for a company that printed 3d models. check out this site. it's not where i interned but they do what we did.

so much for giving an honest, non-asshole response.
Did you want a pat on the back?
Have you made any models, animated anything etc?
not at all, an intelligent response would be nice. i should have known better. and yes, i have worked extensively with stl files for the 3d modeling process. as far as fly by's and such, not so much. although i do have a few friends that are the shit at that stuff.
Standard template libraries? I just googled the term- I've never encountered it before. So you've mostly been exposed to the business side- the physical rendering part etc.?
Mind you, I use max as a hobby...with the stated goal of someday making a short film (where something will blow up). My models are simplistic because I try to minimize the poly-count to cut down on rendering times, etc.
However- I get stuck on the details- and there are parts (like texturing) that I don't have a grasp of at all.
And then there's a valid idea- then a "script", then animating the models....etc...
no, not that type of stl, this type.

as far as renderings go, unless you have a box with all the ram it can take, a fast processor and a smoking fast graphics card there really isn't a point (nice pun) to try with too many polys.
I was wondering about the C++ thing- that'd be hardcore modelling....
Yeah, I have a laptop-it's the most powerful machine I've had to date, but that's not saying much. So, I'm definitely going for low poly...(ish)...my models are in the 1000-2000 poly range (especially the planes/tanks (damn all those wheels!))

Pardon my interruption of nerd talk........but when Tek gets all brainy, I melt....
You're not gonna retract your words?i shall now take back my diss of you regarding your rendering skills, you don't stand a shot with an outdated laptop.
