I don't drink but I like to kill my brain in other ways :)
I'll drink to that, wait no I won't, I'll smoke to that! :D I can't drink much because it gives me really bad migraines. I've tried absinth (It has botanical wormwood in it not southern wormwood which is poison) but I don't like black licorice so I can't drink it much cause it makes me feel sick. :p

but the king of all cocktails IMHO is the long island iced tea. the mrs is a former bartender. :D

i agree with you here...

btw... did you see the new bartender competition show thing that's starting on sunday nights? i can't remember... bravo, travel, e!, food network... i dunno which channel but it's sunday night at 9 or 10pm. it's like iron chef meets gymnastics.

don't get travel, but i generally watch food network religiously. gonna have to check it out. i know food network has run bartender competitions a few times but that doesn't sound like what you're describing. interesting...

o, and of course, iron chef rules. :>

During summer months, I like an ice cold beer or vodka and lemonade. During wintertime, I'll usually drink hot chocolate with peppermint schnaps.

Fav Drinks!!!

Depends on my mood of drinks and what I am eating!

1. If I am having sushi - Sake
2. If I am depressed - Margarita
3. If I am having Pizza - A nice cold DARK Beer
4. At Applebee's Bahama Mama, Mud Slide
5. Friday's - Long Island Ice Tea
6. Romantic night out - Bottle of wine ( White,Red,Blush )
7. Drinks I've treid - Lemon Drop ( Party ), Perfect Margarita ( Applebees ), Cosmopolitan

Not that I drink THAT often, but...

I voted for cocktails because that's my usual thing. In that category, I generally go for cosmopolitans, vodka & cranberry juice, daquiris (but it has to be real fruit and slushy), or something not too sugary mixed with liquor. As long as I stick to mixers that aren't loaded with sugar, cocktails are hangover-free.

I love wine, but have to stay with varieties that don't come in contact with oak (migraine and allergic reaction), so most reds are out. I really, really love port. Since Washington is a major wine producer, we go tasting often and always find new favorites.

I'll drink liquers, straight liquor, certain microbrews, cider, and homemade sangria on occasion too.

151 Rum.... or 190 dark Rum....
Appletons Special... or Ron Bacardi...
Atta boy! / You da man! :) :) :)

Try this sometime:
THE RUM RUNNER

Into a blender add 1 measure (shot, jigger, etc.) each of the following:
Light Rum
Dark Rum
151 Rum
Creme de Banana
Blackberry Brandy
Rose's Grenadine
Rose's Lime
Add enough ice to blend to a slushy consistency. Serve it!
(If you use shots, this'll make 2 or 3 drinks.)

It actually tastes non-alcoholic, like a Slurpee from the Dairy Queen, BUT !!!!! :D :D :D
Don't worry - Be happy!!!!!

It really depends on my mood. I do love wine, but sometimes a cocktail is nice. Oftentimes kicking back with a Newcastle or Magners Cider is what I need to unwind... and once in a while I like shots.

I like, and may have several this weekend... I have a bottle of 190 dark special rum... I have been waiting to open.... and worry... I rarely do when I drink rum.....

:D

I like either bud or vodka and coke. I'm not a big drinker though and have no respect for people who get drunk.

Don't know about y'all, but it seems my favorite liquors turn me into very different guys.

Rum and tequila make me want to dance like a mad man, grab the karioke and have jungle sex.

Wine mellows me and turns me into Mr. Boring guy.

Beer (the more off-beat, the better) turns me into a guy's guy -- let's shoot some pool, play poker, talk about golf and throw someting on the grill.

God forbid I drink all those things at the same time. I just might implode.

Absinth, Crown, JD, Yager, Slivovitz, Bell's, Vermouth, Vodka... I like to drink different things.

Beer: Unibroue - La Fin Du Monde, La Maudite, Holsten... anything strong..

I voted depends on my mood.

I usually go for wine, sometimes CC & 7 or 7 & &. However, when I played league softball it was always beer.

for me, it depends on my mood and how much money I have to spend. usually when I drink I tend to just go for beer since it's cheaper. I've tried some microbrew stuff, but my favorite is just plain ol' MGD. I guess I'm not what you'd call a con-o-sewer.

if I've got more money to spend I'll usually have a bloody mary or two. I also like jagermeister and I like drinks that don't really taste like drinks. I had something called an oatmeal cookie once. I have no idea what's in it, but it was really tasty.

the talk of absinthe reminded me of a movie called eurotrip. there are a couple of pretty funny absinthe-related scenes in it.

What does Sex on the Beach fall under? Cocktail? I always just call them mixed drinks...and that's really all I ever have.

Yup! The terms, "mixed drink and cocktail" are interchangeable. :)

Hardly drink at all now, but when I did, the occasional beer or if I felt like loosening up, scotch and dry was my preferred method, or for quiet sipping, one of many fine liqueurs.

Wine, don't really like it except maybe a late harvest or a nice muscat or tokay.
BTW after having spent a few years working in a vineyard and winery I'd just like to let you know that wine is not strictly vegetarian.

Well not on purpose, but whatever happens to be in the vine when that machine goes through, well it goes in too. I have seen a layer six inches thick of pickled caterpillars. :p I wont mention the larger creatures, but when they say full bodied they aint kidding. :D
