What made you smile or laugh today? Part III

Wed. in St Louis...

I took a German lady and her 2 kids to a nice Italian resto. Here comes her glass of wine. She holds it up to the light. "Nope." Glass is not clean; has water spots.

Because of the no nut 19 thread, I spent the last hour watching Seinfeld bloopers on youtube.

An hour well spent.

I'm really loving Return of the Obra Dinn.

It's a game, it's difficult, it's fun. It's also so frustrating at times, because you need to look at the same pixelated pictures and listen to the same sound clips over and over again looking for clues, but when something clicks, it's such a nice feeling.

The story isn't the most engaging one for me, but I'm loving the fact that I get to be the detective and piece it all together from small clues.

I was on the phone with my sister-in-law today. On the background I could hear my niece say many times that she wants to talk with me as well, because she has something very important to tell.

So, my SIL handed the phone to her and she asked me if I had watched a documentary about zebras (I hadn't) and then recapped what had happened (the baby zebra's mom died, but her aunt adopted her). That was the very important thing she wanted to tell me.

And then, to finish off the phone call she said: "OMG, I'm, like, so beautiful". In English. She's 7 and hasn't had a single English class yet (which is actually a tragedy, but that's beside the point).

It was so, so funny.

In a checkout line yesterday, a daddy and a little girl ahead of me...she was tiny, maybe 4, Hispanic, and adorable. I told her she was beautiful, and a flirt. She said, "You're a poopyhead." Dad was embarrassed, and hustled out of there. Cashier and I laughed till we cried. Out of the mouthes of babes...

There’s a meme going around where people post a pair of pictures ostensibly taken ten years apart to show how they have aged. His ,opening I saw one with two photos of Keith Richards labelled 1919 and 2019. The pictures are identical.

A person here talks about "niche events" but she pronounces it as "Nietzsche events" and I keep imagining a gathering of Nietzsche impersonators discussing übermensch.

I went for a short hike today and walked around a bend, admiring a stand of beech trees, when a glint of blue caught my eye. I left the trail to have a closer look. Thank you, cool soul, for painting a snowflake on a coin-sized river stone and tucking it up on a branch.

I've been told finding a painted rock is a thing in some areas of the US. One is supposed to paint one or more and hide for others to find after finding one. A friend in PA has 3 now that she and her child have found in their weekend activities.

Felicitations! Bonne chance avec vos efforts.

Merci, Monsieur Yankee! Mais on peut se dire "tu", non? Je vais a Lyon en mars, donc je dois reapprendre(? :D) le francais. :)

Haha, look at me possibly inventing new words and almost definitely inventing new grammar. Hooray Duolingo! :D

What???!! No no no! This was left for me personally by the Dragonfly Queen of the Fairy Hills. I have it on good authority!

Plus, if I painted a replacement, it’s going to be hard to fit into that diminutive Dragonfly Queen suit, and also the tiny whirring wings keep overfrothing the milk in my Yeti. Also, if you’ve ever bumped into a lactating yeti, that annoys them.

That may be a regional thing. I know it is not a thing where I live. And to be honest I rather look for rainbows, Goblin kings that look like David Bowie and men who have voices like Tim Curry. Lol

A new friend at work/colleague who said my advice helped her look good in front of her super critical supervisors. I look forward to running into her every morning when our paths cross for like an hour and we frantically catch up/bitch and gossip, it was nice to also help beyond making her laugh :)

Are you SURE it wasn’t just a fancy miniature cookie? Like the kind that looks good but the frosting is disappointingly tasteless?
