What made you smile or laugh today? Part III

When my daughter was washing dishes, she was afraid to put her hands in the water. As she dried her hands, I let the water out and pretended my fingers were caught in the drain. It was very dramatic... she hurried to save me only to discover I had been silly... we've laughed about it all day.

A new acquaintance called me a peach.

This, after I was extremely blunt with him about my opinions on his situation. Instead of defensive, he was thoughtful, gracious and warm.

Lit is full of surprises. :)

Built a cat tree for Her Majesty last night. She spent about an hour on it today batting frantically at the dangly mouse.

Also, she's taken to hiding behind things and leaping out to savage my ankles (very gently) as I walk past. I have to pretend I don't see her.

She sounds awfully sweet.

Watching my 2.5 year old soothing out of a tantrum when handed a frost wolf cub to cuddle. Frostwolves for the win.

I laughed at myself when I asked a guy if he had any experience with bondage and then remembered he'd been in the military for 14 years.:eek:

Husband super full of anxiety, chattering teeth, talking weird and fast, his brain seemed off in a different place. When I asked what he needed, he said "will you hold my hand?" When I did, he smiled and fell asleep.

Having been in physical pain to I'd hazard a similar degree I very much understand how having your hand as an anchor away from the hell of pain he was in means more than words can tell. It can be a lifeline, one none-badpainfulhurts thing to focus on, that single hand. He is lucky to have you understand.

Need to read this thread more.

I think his pain was more mental than physical. Maybe a combination of both? He doesn't have alzheimers but I'm sensing he's experiencing some kind of "sundowner" anxiety. It seems to happen as it gets dark. He is immobile; he describes the dark as feeling as if he's in a coffin.

Pain is pain, though. Knowing he felt secure in that moment was good.

channel surfing and finding Jerry Springer! haha I haven't seen that show in well over a decade. It's still amazing.

Holding hands is so comforting :)
