What made you smile or laugh today? Part III

I'd say that your description of the usage matches up with my experience, for the most part, but with one difference. The other day I had a turkey burger for lunch. It amounted to a hamburger-like patty made from ground turkey that was served on a round bun. I sort of expected your lobster burger to have been made into a patty shape as well, but I don't think it's a hard-and-fast rule of usage, either.

I think you could make it into a patty as well, but I'm not sure if it would be an improvement. :)

My disabilities plus my culinary degree have made me Learn short cuts for easy dinners. Got to share some recipes and hints on Facebook and felt useful/helpful. Its nice.

I love being able to help people with cooking issues. It's a really nice feeling to be useful and helpful. :)

*A hillarious message from a friend. which I read when I just woke up and almost made me pee myself. I laughed so hard.
My neighbours must think I am a lunatic. it was 6.15 am ..

*finding a vampire emoji on skype and spamming it around.

Cat: *has been silent for an hour*

My partner: *describes delicious lunch she's about to make for us*

Me: "And none for cats!"

Cat: *sad mew*

so she's doing pretty well on the "secretly understands English" front.

I finished a task that made me jump over an emotional hurdle that was higher than even I myself realized.

I feel exposed, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I could swear that my cat was watching a movie with me last night.
Today it's English, tomorrow its utilizing thermonuclear warheads.

Please, may we borrow your cat? There's a job opening. Up in Washington soon and the leading candidate seems less prepared than your cat.

Every evening while we eat, daughter gives us a detailed report of her school day. A couple of today's gems..

A) her class interrogated their biology teacher about her engagement to her boyfriend over Christmas (why do teachers not set their Facebook accounts to private????). When they asked her what her married name would be, one boy shouted gleefully that it wasn't going to spoil the alliteration of her nickname - Miserable Macey becoming Miserable McAllister..

B) In chemistry, they are studying halogens. When the teacher asked 'what is a salt?', alliteration boy answered 'punching someone in the face, sir'. The class didn't seem to have recovered after that...

Then son, who is back at university, burst in through the door at 10 pm, scrounged some food from me, had a quick football chat with his dad, punched his sister then got back in his car and drove off. This happens several times a week - I swear I see that boy more during term time than I do during holidays. :D

A couple of faces I got to put with names. Except MWY. I now view him as a pie. And a happy Lally sighting!

Finally getting around to sewing a button on some skinny jeans I love. My button jar came from my grandma, so going through them and seeing little buttons she collected made me smile. Getting a pair of jeans back in order to wear made me smile. Even her jar, obviously old, made me smile  :) Simple pleasures are lovely gifts.

SmallCat noticed the mouse arrow on my screen this morning and started making small squeaky noises as she tried to catch it. Not great for my productivity but very cute.
