I'm starting a volunteer position at the VA today!
 
I finally did it. I needed help and I got it. It's taken me months to get here but I'm here. Despite the "we terminated your old insurance plans a few days early" panic inducing mishap, I'm ok. Also, I found pure watermelon juice and it's delicious.

Watermelon juice is really good. I don't understand why it's not more readily available. Or in the context of my location - why isn't it available in the first place.

I can't understand why melon drinks in general aren't more popular. The watermelon juice was perfect with a hint of lime juice. Not too sweet or bitter. I'd love to find more musk melon or honeydew melon drinks, too. :)

But lime and mint and watermelon are one of my favourite salads ( with red onion soaked for a day in the lime juice, some flat leaf parsley maybe but nott always, just we always have loads, black olives and feta.

I am also thinking melon and radish might me a nice fresh basis for a salad.

She has amazingly soft fur! And she loves cuddling and petting, but only on her schedule.

If I try to stroke her while she's in the window, she'll bite gently, which seems to be her way of saying "no thank you". But when she decides it's cuddle time:

*squeaky noise*
*repeated headbutts*
*starts purring as soon as I pick her up*
*lies down on my chest and strokes my face with her paws*

She will stay there for hours if she can. I need some sort of cat-sling so she can cuddle while I work.

Yesterday she fell asleep in my arms and then started twitching in some sort of cat dream.
 
I went to my salon today for a wax. The elderly lady had immensely arched eyebrows and a wide smile saying she'd take good care of me. Already I had my apprehensions.

Every time the hot wax was yanked away, I'd be like, "Ow!" and put a hand over my heart. Then she would maniacally laugh loudly and be like, "NO WORRIES. Ms. Linda has the good hands." and I don't know why, that made me smile so much. She was right too. My skin was smooth as a baby's leaving that salon.
