Lying in bed in the dark, listening to the rain storm and the thunder last night.

*selfconsciously hides glittery socks and the cabbage we ate having for dinner tomorrow*A friend of mine from where I used to work tells me little, often odd things that her husband does most days when they both work from home.
Over the weekend I created a bingo grid with some of the more common little things he does. I thought I’d play it all week and cross off based on what she tells me he’s doing. I really thought it’d take me all week to get a bingo, but I already got the first one today!
(Wears socks with glitter, sings a completely made up song, eats cabbage, makes up funny names in a work meeting when they need an example person, promises to be a little more quiet)
When we still worked in the same place, we used to take a coffee break at least few times a week to have a call. And while on the call, her husband would do charades which she would then describe to me and I had to guess. And I got pretty good at it, too! You never knew what he’d pick as a word. It could be obscure Norwegian metal bands (almost never got them) or it could be things like climate change (totally got it).
Sigh, I miss it. It was so funny.
The socks and the cabbage aren’t the odd things she tells me about. The odd ones are things like making up songs about a superhero he has invented, suddenly only walking backwards for no obvious reason etc.*selfconsciously hides glittery socks and the cabbage we ate having for dinner tomorrow*
This made me smile today. Both the music and the memories it brought me. Thanks Yank.It always makes me smile when someone has fun with one of my favorites.
