I'm REALLY pissed at myself right now too. Ugh!

I was supposed to do a presentation since Monday.
I ran out of time Monday and Tuesday.
My teacher got sick on Wednesday and was absent Thursday.
I don't have class on Friday so I have to wait til Monday again.
I was so ready. I had everything I was gonna say.
Fucking English teachers...

This pissed me off, and makes me very sad.


"Community members of this small town and far beyond were stunned Thursday night with the news that Police Chief Michael Maloney, 48, was shot and killed while participating in a drug raid operation.

Maloney was scheduled to retire April 20 from the post he'd held for the past 12 years."

This family are customers of mine, as are 2 of the other wounded officers.

Things like this just don't happen around these parts.

My prayers & thoughts go out to all of the families.

Not getting accepted for the course I applied for through work. I received a lovely generic email telling me that they had a high calibre of applicants and as such I was unsuccessful. Hilarious really because we had to submit our last 2 years of Performance Appraisals with the application as well as our experience in this particular area and references from people we have worked with so I contacted our offices around the world for these as well as external customers and I have 2 top ratings for my appraisals and 2 second to top ratings and over the last 3 years I have had alot of experience in that particular area. No one can believe that I never even made it through to the phone interview stage.

Oh well next time they ask me to drop everything and head to a disaster zone I can happily say nope, I can't because I have not had the training which I am supposed to have had and see someone who has had no experience but done the course and has no idea of the realities of a disaster zone crash and burn.

Something that doesn't piss me off, but I find amusing in a negative way. I worked as a waitress in Virginia for 3 years, and the minimum wage there was $2.13/hour. Now I work in California as a waitress and the minimumu wage here is $8/hour. So I think it's hilarious when the other servers start complaing about their bad tips. I'm like "Hey, even if you get a crappy tip you're still making at least $10/hour, if not more. " At the end of the day it's serving food. I've worked a million different jobs, and serving food has been harder than some, and easier than others.

I don't know your situation but I'm sure your cost of living is higher in CA than VA. Minimum wage is funny that way. A rise in minimum wage is generally not a great thing for the economy as a whole, neither are bad tippers

The strange people I work with insist that a word I have spelled correctly in an official document is misspelled. When I dispute their correction, the return email shows that they've been spelling it wrong all along (it's a proper noun) and are correcting my submissions because they honestly believe in their spelling.

This conversation should not have taken several hours of back and forth, with multiple links out to outside sources.
