I'm trying to talk my friend into going to Halloween with me as the Grady twins!!

And The Conjuring was so awesome. Scared the pants off me.

Thank you for this thread!!

I love the Conjuring! It is such a good movie in my opinion. I am going to see Annabelle though that doll scares me a bit.

Figured I'd give this a go, since this thread has been on my mind since the lovely Miss Alice launched it.

Horror movies - unless I've seen the "making of" in great length and depth ... and even then I'm usually still peeking out from behind my fingers.
Bugs and insects - crawly things are bad!

Clowns - They aren't funny, they aren't joyful ... they're just weird!
I blame my parents for this one, who lets a six year old watch the movie IT? Still terrified of something coming out of my shower drain.

Being attacked/killed in the shower (Illogical I know, blame it on Psycho) - Specifically late night showers, I think its the eerie silence coupled with the fact that my guard is usually down. Just seems like the prime moment

Losing my mind (Both my mental ability & the prospect of insanity) - That thin line is terrifying to me, do people even realize when they've crossed it?

Strange noises around the house, especially at night -whether I'm alone or not.

Footsteps outside my apartment at night, that just end without a trace - meaning the sound doesn't continue until I hear a door open nor do the steps retreat and go back the other way. They just stop and there's none out there!

Gremlins, especially when they get wet and multiply - Again I blame my parents, I didn't want to touch water for days after that.

Failure and Success - So not being good enough as wells being good enough and having to maintain it.

Being perceived as irrelevant

Petting Bunnies or Cats - It's the feel of their bones beneath their fur ... I'm fairly squeamish I know.

Being restricted in movement - I think it's more the fear of how much I like it.

Being deliberately bruised - Same as above

Not waking up/Being trapped in a dream - It's happened to me before, where I'm aware that I'm trying to wake up but simply can't. I'll either wake up in the dream and seemingly go about my day only to realize I'm still asleep. And this was before I saw Inception :p

Teddy Bear eyes and toys with lifelike eyes and odd smiles - especially in the dark.

Thinking about the things that scare me.

There's more, but I cant or simply refuse to remember right now.

Oh I can do that...the teddybear part. I do my best work in the dark. *Smiling oddly*

  • Mist/Fog ~ But only in the evening. Misty mornings are gorgeous...when the fog starts creeping around trees as the sunsets, it's a totally different matter!

Heh... wait what?! I'm slightly freaked out now.

Add Brightwell to my list! :p

I am loving these responses! :)

Someday (possibly when I'm very drunk), I will manage to sit through The Conjuring. And when I'm wide awake that night, too afraid to close my eyes, you ladies had better have my back! laughs

More creepy things...

  • Blythe dolls - I encountered a vintage one of these for the first time as an adult, at a Halloween party, and thought it was just a creepy, flat-faced doll. Then I noticed that she had a pull-string...so I pulled it! What could possibly go wrong?
  • Squirrels. Yeah. I wish I was joking.
  • This.

Why did I click on that link? FRICKING DOLLS EYES!!!!

While we're on the subject of dolls, look what I found last night .... add this to my list!

Yes! I love Alma! It's often used in schools to prompt creative writing. Wonderful animation.
