Ah... It's this pretty vine like plant that covers the ground. :) I'm trying new things.

Maybe something for reference/scale? Unless you like it like that... in which case, well done :p

Seela - what did you end up making? I have also been dealing with an abundant garden! Things here are rotting on the vine :( I have been cooking like crazy to rescue what I can...

I just cut some of the grass and ate the first four ripe raspberries.

I also realise I forgot to join MWY on his detox. But his plan combined with my dream about mayr clinic saw me buy the mayr clinic fourteen day alkaline plan book thingy. Its a lot of food with quite frequent appearance of dried figs for breakfast on the menu but none of the Epsom salt drinking they are meant to do at the clinics. Tbh, I hoped less food would be involved.

I just bought some test strips to monitor my alkaline/acidity and am eating for the alkaline side. It's not so much adding things to my diet as much as taking things away...

I just wanted to suffer:eek:. I like a bit of intermittent dietary suffering.

The fourteen day plan has a lot of quite tasty ( if rather laxative sounding) food in it. and none of those salts.

I have never tried it, but I feel like salts would just make me puke...

I think they are like Epsom salts, or maybe alkaseltzer ( what is in that?) or other digestif salts. Digestif salts are not uncommon in Italy and Epsom salts in UK. They aren't like drinking sea water or kitchen salt water. You expell, but its not vomit.

Oh, it would be for me!
Two times I have Alkaseltzer, and both times...

Instantly

ETA:
Somehow when I end up barfing in the cooking thread, I think we are way off topic :p

I discovered, to my horror, that after not eating for 24 hours the need to eat becomes less urgent. I always thought I love food too much to ever think that not eating could be a possibility. I was looking into all the bad things that can happen when you don't eat and found this product: Soylent.

I think I would miss other foods too much.

Waaaaaay too much!
Not to mention the fact that my teeth would get bored :p

Apparently (I read a lot about this) it could be bad for your teeth and jaw to not chew, so they suggest gum to exercise the mouth. The creator drinks this for 90% of his meals and eats very little. He says that when he does eat food he opts for expensive restaurants. According to him, when you spend less on daily eating you can really go all out when you finally decide to shovel in some real food. ;)

Soylent Green is the first thing I thought of!
What's he making that it of, anyway?

What is the point of living?

I had medical food replacements similar for a while when I had some eating problems ( physical) and it really is joyless. But you are right, when you fast, the need to eat becomes less pressing. In fact, I feel BETTER when I fast. I really like intermittent fasting as a compromise, its very difficult on current schedule, but is think I'm going to talk to G about me doing this again. I only have one obvious fast day ATM, which is the problem. The health benefits of IF really appeal.

Yes, I have been looking at fasting as well. One is the reasons I haven't been posting here as much, only 500 calories a few days a week.

This makes perfect sense to me! It kind of seems like it could be hard on your system, though, going back and forth from a liquid diet to rich foods.

^^^That's the original blog. He talks about how he started making it. I was utterly fascinated by this. I didn't eat for almost a 24 hour period so I wanted to see what could happen, that's when I stumbled across this stuff.

When I first started fasting, I experienced what you did. I thought I would wake up the next day positively starving! And... not so much  I was intrigued by the cell mode changes (repair mode during fasting vs replace mode when not fasting). I haven't read your link yet, but I will definitely check it out.

I used up most of my beer snack supply, so I'm making some bruschetta. We'll see how it turns out with plain sliced bread. (0_o)

Because the picture was nice. :D
