Which accent turns you on the most?

I love a French Canadian or French accent. Some French women speak so soft you can't help but lean in and listen to every syllable.

I don't know about being turned on by an accent, but for me, I've always thought a Spanish accent sounds really cool, I'm surprised there aren't more likes for it here.

There are Spanish accents and Spanish accents. I like pure Castilian but I used to speak Llanito (Spanglish as used to be spoken in Gibraltar) and dockworkers' Andalusian. Both are harsh compared with Castilian. (and use far more expletives in almost every sentence!)

I'm not so pleased with the variety of Central and South American variants of Spanish.

The Spanish that really excited me was spoken by a friend's mother. She was a Spanish aristocrat who had to escape the 1930s Spanish Civil War. When her family's home was attacked by Franco's troops she fled to her English friend who was an engineer on a nearby construction project.

She and all her family were on a "dead or alive" list for being on the wrong side. She couldn't leave Spain under her own name.

Her English friend proposed marriage, and they married at the British Embassy. Mr and Mrs (Englishman) could leave freely.

Her Spanish was crystal clear and delicious. She was horrified by mine. Even the lowest peasant on her family estates had spoken better Spanish than I did.
