navy life

brought me to england, france , germany, italy , spain, egypt,turkey, greece, israel, lebanon, morocco and blew up a few of quadafis planes in the gulf of sidra which is libya. while in the navy i also visiited austria belgium switzerland and monte carlo. out of the navy ive visited aruba , jamaica, bahamas, british virgin islands and usvi , canada, mexico and brazil i think thats it

After reading through all the entries since I first posted here, I realize that I completely forgot to name a foreign place I've visited: The Bahamas. It was a long time ago and I wasn't particularly sober for most of the weekend. Mea culpa.

Within the U.S., I've been to all of the lower 48 except 4 states in the southeast (NC, SC, AL, MI), North Dakota and New Mexico. Still haven't made it to either Alaska or Hawaii either.

I just came in from a brief exercise walk. It was 0 outside with a wind chill of -14. I think I'll pack for the southeast right now if you don't mind.

Mexico and Aruba are countries I've been to.

There are many countries I'd like to visit Italy and Greece top the list for me.

So which countries have you been to? Which ones would you like to visit but haven't been to yet? I'm just curious because I love the idea of traveling, but I sincerely doubt that it's something that'll happen for me in the near future. So I'll just live vicariously through others.

The Extremely Short List Of Countries I've Been To

1.) The US - I live here, obviously.

2.) Mexico - I was pretty young, so I don't remember much about it, but the beaches on Isla Mujeres still stand in my mind as the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my (very limited) travels.

I'd like to visit the rest of the European countries and almost anywhere beyond Europe. Iceland, Switzerland, Montenegro and Albania are high on my European travel list, but for some reason I'm afraid of France confused so I can't see myself going there unless I magically learn to speak French. USA and Canada (I finally want to visit an English-speaking country) high on my beyond-Europe list, along with Georgia (the country) and Armenia (cool writing, that's a perfectly valid reason for traveling there!).

This was a fun bump!

I'm happy to report that I have since gotten over my fear of France and have learned enough crappy French to get by! Turned out that instead of magic, all I needed was 3-ish months of Duolingo.
