Why is my story still pending?

Well, I received a response from Laurel. Here's the issue. Unbeknown to me at the time there is a ban on stories of a political nature. I guess there were bunch of people, during the Democrat primary campaign, who were submitting political rants for and against Obama and Hillary as stories. So Lit banned all stories with political themes/characters.

My particular story wasn't a rant and wasn't "anti" any candidate. It merely contained a sex scene between one of the candidates and his spouse. However, in order to not run afoul of their ban on political stories the Lit editors decided to hold my story until after the election is over so they won't get a bunch of people complaining that my story got posted while theirs didn't.

Which candidate? I'll either enjoy reading it or need to scrub my brain with bleach after, and I'd sort of like to know which it's going to be.

Sorry you ended up having to wait - though I can kinda understand Laurel's decision on the issue as well. I hope it doesn't put you off posting more.

Yes, it would have been good if they'd written to me to tell me why it was being held up. It would have prevented this thread. Lauren did apologize for not writing me sooner though.

And Jen...you'll just have to wait and see which candidate it is. I understand your concerns. Keep in mind I wrote a story that I wanted people to enjoy though. You'll have to trust me that it's not a story about Dennis Kucinich getting it on with Hillary. *shudder*
