Maybe get her moved out in a month or two... if "I" or "we" don't file "married" on this years Taxes...Well!

Update.

Installed a crap load of light fixtures and ceiling fans and such. Delivered another truck load of her "stuff".

Gave A/C man a key to house and in-laws a blank check for when job is completed. (new A/C Unit.)

60-120 days more or less...no way to know according to my Attorney.

Well, she has the papers to sign agreeing to everything.

I advised her to read and think about them and if she agrees sign them and send them to my attorney and if she signs the waver she will not have to do anything else.

My attorney said she would be crazy not sign the papers uncontested.

Said I being way too good to her and far more generous than I have to be.

Yeah probably so... all things considered, but I do and will sleep good at night.

Hope it works for you - well for both of you. Always works out for the lawyers though.

If you have been advised that you are being more than generous, make sure there is indeed a line that won't be crossed. All too often when offering cake, to ward off devouring, it just allows them to come in closer for yet a bigger bite.

Of course even your own lawyer has an interest in the settlement not going smoothly.

Congrats, even if it doesn't feel like it now. I'm sure if you have been through this before you know that all the feelings that you felt when you knew this divorce was coming starts over again like a clock reset.

Do all those be kind to yourself things that bring you joy. Oh and get laid. Stat. You got about a week of "Oh....sigh...it's too fresh, I don't want to talk about it." sympathy.

I have to make a trip to La Porte Wednesday to get some papers signed and filed.

(bring a sack of money for filing fees!)

A Deed of Trust to Secure Owelty of Partition. and a Special Warranty Deed with Encumbrance for Owelty of Partition.

Already had the judge sign the Qualified Domestic Relations Order and Charles Schwab has received it.

After adding it all up in my head this divorce will cost about one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Yeah, I will not be retiring at 66 & 1/4 years old but I'm sure we will be happier then we would have been.

At least I tried make it that way.

I guess in the end that is all a man can do.
