Words that you always misspell.

What language is that?
Areola. I want to write it beginning ae, and after that my input helper thingy has no idea what word I’m trying to use. It doesn’t help that if I try to use Google translate to help me, it translates the word from my language into “nipple yard.”

Teh. By itself and as a precursor to tehre, etc.

My other word I have to concentrate on is maintenance. I swap the As and Es around.

As I have said many times before, the first comment I ever got on this site was a man telling me how he would never read my stories, because I mistook "shudder" with "shutter"

If only I'd never made that mistake again. 🫣

Medieval.
Perineum.

Oh, and remembering that there's no such word as 'alot', it's two words 'a lot'.

Is your lot a large lot or a small lot? Our lot is small, and our house is large for how small our lot is. We'd like a lot larger lot but can't afford a larger lot than the lot we have.

Form/from is probably my most common typo that spell checker fails to catch. I spell ombre correctly, but it threw me off the first time I heard it pronounced om-bray instead of om-ber. Its another one of those French words that gets localized differently depending on where you live. Om-bray is closer to the original French, and seems to be more common.

Bureaucracy takes me multiple attempts. I know when I get it wrong, but only spell it right by trail and error. Any word with arbitrary doubling of consonants. Necessary can come out neccesary.

I'm a fat-fingered and rushed typist, so I usually mistype words rather than misspell them. But:

Reccommend
Occaisonal

and, embarrassingly, nessecary

Finnish.

I confused angle and ankle in an early story, and haven’t fixed it despite a commentator pointing it out. I’m sure there’s other things messed up in that story too. But things like that, a misspelled word that nevertheless is a word so my spellchecker won’t complain, well… it’s bound to happen.

In one of my stories, the Word spellchecker kept wanting me to change "cock" to "clock". As in, "Her warm mouth enveloped my clock."
