WTF is it with the incest!?

A curious thought............

When I read through threads about incest, I find more than a few people posting that they are not at all interested in incest. If they are really not interested, then why click on the thread in the first place? Do they have some subconscious or hidden desire for a close family member they are afraid to admit to themselves?

Did you READ THE ORIGINAL POST?!

we've got guys on here— a lot of them, it seems, though maybe it's just the same guys over and over again— who try to flip every single thread into a prurient conversation about incest.

For many people, this is a PTSD trigger that will drive them away! How is this so hard to understand!?
The problem is, it's impossible to avoid when jackasses turn unrelated threads into incest threads.

“Consensual” Incest is unlike nearly ANY other kink in terms of its moral dubiousness, so it's understandable that many people wish to avoid it like the plague. Even when technically "consensual" many of us regard ALL incest as inherently immoral. Why? Because any 18+ year old woman having sex with her father must have been groomed at a younger age to have such a dysfunctional attraction. So, the relationship is highly tainted by non-consent EVEN though the daughter is now of consenting age. And it doesn't matter if she is a step-daughter.

Plus, inserting incest into an unrelated thread undermines peoples' efforts to participate only in Lit threads that are consistent with their sexual ethics. As an example, I've made many contributions to the "Rimming" and "Pegging" threads. And these threads and my contributions to them can be defended as ethical. It SUCKS when later in the thread some douchebag adds a comment to a *.gif like "Just Like Daddy Likes it!." After he does this, I now have several posts and "likes" in a thread that is now partly about incest. And at that point, it's too late to delete my posts. Fucking assholes.

These idiots should be thrown off Literotica.

If that's what turns you on, go for it — so long as it's safe, sane and consensual.

(Consensual: read: NOT about horny fathers seducing or raping their underage daughters while pretending it's the underage daughter who's doing the seducing, thereby abdicating all responsibility)

Truly consensual, without a huge power deferential— fine. But would it be so hard to keep those conversations in the incest threads?

Folks, show a modicum of consideration?
If it is something I don't care for, not clicking on the thread seems to work about 125% of the time. Just sayin'

You've missed the whole point of my OP. Of course if I don't like incest (I don't) I'm not going to click on incest threads. The issue is that certain people here continually insert remarks about incest on other threads very different threads that I am interested in.

Once in a while, it's not hard to pass it by (not hard for me, that is— I've never been victimized this way). When it becomes a regular thing, it's fucking annoying.

I didn't 'miss' anything, I actually read it and understand and comprehend your meaning. Certain people just feel the need to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Do you know anything about life at all?

Back in the 1960s, the hippies used to have a saying: "Different strokes for different folks."

By ignoring it and moving on to a new topic.
Yes, I can do that. Although I do have PTSD, I'm fortunate enough not to be overly triggered by this particular topic. But why should anyone have to “ignore it and move on”? Derailing a thread under any circumstances is just bad etiquette. Doing so with such a potentially triggering issue is simply cruel.

Certain people just feel the need to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
“Recent estimates suggest that as many as one in every three girls and one in every six boys experience childhood sexual abuse” [University of Chicago].
As has been noted by many studies over the years, the reality— especially with boys— may be significantly higher, due to the strong stigma against revealing this. If we take those two figures at face value and average them, it means that at least one in every four people in this country have been molested as a child. Of these, a high percentage experience—
posttraumatic stress disorder, dissociative identity disorder, other anxiety disorders, depression, substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, and others.... Victims of CSA also face heightened risk of impairments in functioning (e.g., impulsivity, interpersonal difficulties, self-mutilation, and other forms of self-harm. [University of Chicago]
Approximately 95 to 97 percent of individuals with dissociative identity disorder report experiencing severe childhood sexual and physical abuse. [American Counseling Association]

The most reliable research suggests that 1 in 20 families with a female child have histories of father-daughter child sexual abuse, whereas 1 in 7 blended families with a female child have experienced stepfather-stepdaughter child sexual abuse. [American Counseling Association]
These are not molehills we're talking about here.

I'm well aware that some people who have experienced incest are sexualized by the experience, many to the point that it becomes a kink. I'm not here to judge those people— not in a thousand years (so long as they don't incest their own children). All I'm asking is that they keep their discussion of their kink on threads that are devoted to the topic. Is that really so much to ask?

She seems to be one of the few people here with her head on straight!!!

BTW TheNurseWithPrettyLegs, I think a woman who shaves her legs and wears pantyhose shows a little class. My hats off to you!!!

So, would that be your response to a woman who was traumatized by being flashed on the street?

"..If you don't want to see a flasher’s dick, then take some personal responsibility and look away from strangers wearing a trench coat."

Is that what you're suggesting - that it's OUR fault?

You're not grasping the fact that, like a flasher showing his junk to an unsuspecting passerby, we cannot avoid these references to incest when they are constantly inserted as non-sequiturs into every goddamn thread. Why don't you get this?

To be this angry, your life really must suck. You do realize this is just the internet and not real life? I feel sorry for you. Perhaps you really should consider therapy.

You do realize we're taking about PTSD triggers here, not just fantasy? Perhaps you should try compassion instead of sarcasm. It might make your life better.

If you are suffering from PTSD, you seriously should consider therapy. You're not going to find any answers here. This is the internet, and the internet is what it is!

I have no idea if you're intentionally missing the point of this entire thread, or if you're just obtuse.

What about my comment suggests I'm an angry person, or that my life sucks? I think you'd have a hard time finding anyone in my personal life who thinks of me this way. Why do you?
