I like the one with the beret!
FACT: All of May's AVs are exquisite.
Thanks for the post! I would not have known that was a sailboat unless you told me. Maybe if you could make the picture larger? Your story is wonderful and has meaning to it and I’m all about meaning.I'm a sailor and I love women. I found the image years ago and loved it. A free spirited woman expressing herself unabashedly on a sailboat. Funny thing is, I found the image years before meeting her, but the silhouette looks very much like my girlfriend!
I studied art years ago and I definitely have an appreciation for your choice. It is a beautiful avatar and I like the flowing hair a lot! To me your avatar says something about your openness to thoughts and ideas.I've always appreciated this painting "The Birth of Venus" by Botticelli. She's lovely and round, the colors are amazing and the Italian renaissance was a fantastic period in time. I had an art teacher compare me to Venus once, I'm chubbier, but our colorings are similar.
I never change my AV, but when you choose one choose it because it speaks to you or makes you smile or shocks people.
Is that an actual tat on you? Your statement makes it sound like part of the initiation to a fraternity in college. At least that’s my best guess. How close am I. You do make it clear that an avatar should make you feel good. I like that.My AV is a reminder if a very good time in my life, when everything was falling down around me, I got to be part of something bigger. To reach out and touch a couple of lives and come back feeling like I made a difference.
- What does it mean to you? -
I "might" have a problem.
- What made you pick it? -
I change my avatar more often than I probably should. But I guess to answer your question, I must have been subconsciously feeling very philosophical that day. The agony of having too many choices makes me late to everywhere. Trying to decide what pair of shoes to wear is sort of like trying to please everyone all the time - it's never easy and often impossible. I guess it says, welcome to my world.
- Does it have a secret meaning? -
No. Well, yes.
- Does it have the affect on others you intended? -
Yes. Surprisingly it does. At least compared to some of the other avatars I've chosen in the past. I think most women can relate and most men seem to too in one way or another (their wives probably have a closet full of shoes too). Also, I never knew how many guys really and truly had secret shoe and foot fetishes until I joined Lit. I started looking around in the RW and realized that they're everywhere! So, the pervs seem to like it too (which is fine by me btw)
- Is it part of your online personality? -
Yes.
- What is it about your Avatar that you think makes it a really good Avatar? -
You've made me realize it's a cry for help.
- What do others misconstrue about your Avatar? -
They think I spend a ton of money on shoes. Wait, what does "misconstrue" mean?
Thanks Numeniusa! I hav to admit that I am having trouble coming up with one pic for my first avatar, so I admire that it’s so much easier for you. I love the authenticity you share in your avatar, I hope to be similarly genuine. I think you are the first person to mention anonymity, which is a surprise since it most folks would not be taking photos with their head cut off. It’s a funny thing if you stop and think about it. But, I get it, I’ll do the same myself. I do wonder why we don’t have more board that talk about anonymity since I bet it’s a pretty common concern of folks here. And, I love the pick, it’s very inviting.Mine's always me, and it's usually a pic I think makes me look good, let's be honest I change it fairly regularly. Currently it's upside-down to signify that I am enjoying my trip Down Under
Like many I try to protect my anonymity here, but I like having a sort of 'realness' in my AV, something which reflects the side of me which Lit brings out and enables me to express.
StarGazer, I get the Pepe pic, but why? I mean, he never get’s the girl. I’m sure you’ve figured out that, more than anyone else posting her, we probably could actually have coffee. In any case, I think it’s a gutsy choice and I admire that.Always chasing but never catching. lol
Jeff, seriously, that is really cool and touching. My hats off to you. I don’t think I would think along those lines for my pick, but maybe the ideas swirling around my head are not going to work out and I should rethink this one day. You’ve been here longer than me and I don’t take your line of reasoning lightly. Thanks for sharing, I appreciate it.I had been using the same av for years and years - of a flower I took a picture of in Kauai. Then someone told me it was time to retire that picture. So, I wanted to choose a picture of me - without scaring anyone. So I chose the current av.
It was taken by my son while in Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World's water park. I had gone to Disney World with either my son or daughter (or both) about every other year and we got good at understanding where we wanted to hang out the most. Typhoon Lagoon was the place we usually chose as our, "Go To" spot each vacation.
While there, I started getting my kids to try crazy things while in the wave pool and would use a disposable underwater camera for taking pictures of their antics. When I had them try things, my daughter started realizing that OTHER kids would listen in to my instructions and would try them as well - so we "organized" a little bit. At one point we had over 20 kids doing the same thing at the same time in the pool.
This picture represents the fun I had with my kids - without scaring any of the adults in this room with my looks...
This was me finishing my 8th Spartan race (2nd in two days) from July of last year. I decided to do a jumping dab because my son told me that dabbing was so 2016... I mostly did it to embarrass him (I flossed across the finish line the day before) I couldn't believe how well it turned out considering I usually hate all my race photos... Those socks were white when I started
Thank you for posting on the thread. You describe a journey of change and experimentation, at least that Is how I read your thoughts. I have a thing about lips and would love to see your old AV photoI like your face
I first had a black and white lip bite avatar that I really liked but wasn’t me
Then I switched it to my lips but only cos i had a pic that made them look like
I’ve had my body, my ass and a range of different lingerie profiles that sometimes made it to av but they’ve been more short term, my favourite combo was lip av and butt profile so it looked like kiss my ass (cos I’m easily amused)
And I haven’t been here in a while so I’m currently empty
I like the cocktar, it’s really cool and has an artistic feel to it. You drew it? You got skills! I’m interested in the protest. The empty frame is a little confusing. Now that I know it’s a protest, I guess …. I want to know what you are protesting. Avatars? I do notice the frame, only because I have taken some art classes along the way and framed some stuff. The frame to me says museum quality, something renaissance.I made the COCKTAR! one I have used for years, because it is perfect, but recentlyish made this one as a feeble sort of "protest"

I have made it to start on page 3!
I have seen and enjoyed your posts on several boards. Your avatar, but more importantly the little photo in your sig, speak volumes. But, what I noticed (that I suspect other’s may have missed) is in the fine print you have a line from one of my favorite songs Brad Paisley - Perfect Storm. Isn’t it funny the things people do and don’t notice? Thank you so very much for posting here.I started with different AVs of bare feet, some I chose, and some were sent to me. For a long time, I would change the AV to something recent that was sent to thank the person. Then, I found this.
It's me (not in a literal sense). It's who I am in every part of my being. Submissive (but not a pushover). I love that chain around her ankle.
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, it might offend some just as I find some AVs tacky and in poor taste, some people are on my ignore list for their AVs. But, that's who they are and what they choose to share about themselves.
So, whatever you decide, let it speak to you. Let it have meaning to you about who you are.
At first glance your avatar makes me think of Vincent an Gogh’s “The Starry Night”. I have to ask if you made that connection in picking your AV. I have to wonder, do the women sometimes feel the need to desexualize their avatars? It sounds like you’re taking a break from that – did you notice that it changed the way people respond to you?I love hares, and spring is on the way...I was tired of having my tits out so put them away
Well for the majority of my time on lit my AV was a pic of mostly my boobs...they looked pretty damn good but then I left lit and took down one of my photo threads and photos I had posted and now I’m back....i figured I would leave off the av this time but sometimes I feel like people pass up you or your comments when you don’t have an av attached so I chose something different
That photo captures the most relaxing day I’ve ever had. I was lounging on a beach bed in the Bahamas sipping a boozy concoction out of a pineapple on my honeymoon.
It was gorgeous, I felt relaxed and was tan and actually felt attractive in my suit instead of feeling like a beached well.
It was just a beautiful moment for me ...I want to go back
Liz, feel free to add input at any time. You ask a very legitimate question, WHEN!?!?!? Ok, so here’s the deal, I actually started working on come photos last weekend, and hated all of them. This weekend, I took some more photos and hated most of them. But, that does imply that I liked some, sort of. In any case, looking at these photos, I got a slightly new inspiration and I’m pretty darn sure I’ll have an AV up after next weekend. So, It’s not for lack of trying, it’s not that I’m ignoring the issue, It’s more like me being indecisive, and then finally reaching a decision a little too late to do anything with it immediately. You still haven't chosen one yet? What are you waiting for?
(I'm probably about to change mine soon, which means I'll have to go back and re-fill out your questionnaire but I'm not let that stop me! )
I wish I had an interesting story about my avatar, but there's not much to it, really. It kinda goes hand-in-hand with the username, though:
see, I absolutely adore Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic; when I first started figuring out the whole transgender thing, she became my hero and role model for the kind of femininity I wanted to embrace (i.e. you could be a tough tomboy, but also girly and compassionate, too).
The outfit really helps me to get into ... girl-mode, I suppose, for lack of a better term. And rainbows are just awesome!
Yay! Someone has a new AV?
Who?
Oh....he's finally got an AV...with a hand and cufflinks....oh, my!
(Hi, Jade!)
Yay! Someone has a new AV?
Mine points out three main things:
1. My name and where it is located.
2. The things I say and where they are located.
3. My dick is shaped like a baseball bat and points towards the sky at all times.
I picked it because I found these things to be the most important aspects of my character here.
By the way... No one has a better avatar than THROBBS.
Thank you JJ!
I know it's not like a big deal, but as you know I didn't just want to put up any pic. For me all the posts here were helpful, and it means a lot to me that a lot of you cared enough to post and share with me. I hope I have honored your thoughts here and with my initial stab at an AV. I don't think there is another one like it on the site, at least I have not seen one.
Thanks to everyone for welcoming me to Lit! ~ Cam
This is my first effort at starting a thread. I thought I'd do this with my 250 post here. I've been posting on a number of threads regarding Avatars, but there isn't a thoughtful thread that asks everyone to talk about what their Avatar means to them, or what made them choose it. So this is that thread
In my search for my own Avatar, I thought it would be good to hear from all of you about yours. What does it mean to you? What made you pick it? Does it have a secret meaning? Does it have the affect on others you intended? Is it part of your online personality? What is it about your Avatar that you think makes it a really good Avatar? What do others misconstrue about your Avatar? You get the idea.
..... and yes, I'll consider all your thoughtful thoughts as I work on mine!
AWE! That's so sweet, Pmann.
(now that I've changed it back, from the empty frame)
It truly is my favourite here. And there's a lot of big tits avatars out there. You made a literature loving cartoon dick better than tits avatars. That, my friend, is talent.
And the one with the beret? Fuck me with a wheel of Camembert, that shit is hilarious.
