I agree with these statements about feeling safe. Of course not all situations are ever identical, and no one statement can cover all of the varied emotions...but when I was a young man, those feelings were important. Now that I'm older, it's the reverse; I want to offer that sense of security and stability. I think this all gets mentioned often enough to indicate that it's not an unusual dynamic.
