Okay, above you'll find a list of the E and W poems on the site. I do need to add a few more links near the bottom.
I'd love for everyone to look through the poems, comment if you'd like. I'm sure it will make an interesting discussion.
Thanks perks for suggesting that there be unlocked discussion.

Okay, I spent hours putting together a thread of E editor and W winner poems as part of this board's poetry info. It doesn't have to be a sticky. It doesn't have to be locked. Anyway, I copied it here so there could be the asked for discussion and now here it sits. Does anyone want to discuss the E poems? Personally, I don't. I just like being able to go through a list and see what appealed to the readers for the W poems and what appealed to the editor's for the E poems.

If this is of no interest to anyone, then I'll let this thread die. If the E List that's a sticky is of no interest either, I'll unstick and stick it--somewhere.

I wanted to discuss E poems, in the E poem thread. And personally, I find this thread redundant, and apparently, it only matters what the moderators want to do since "personally you don't" want to discuss the E poems, and "just like being able to go through the list".

I'll make sure to remember to ask myself "WWTPD" next time I have my own thought on what I want to post.

Look. I made the thread as part of the poetry board's info on our E and W poems. It's not for discussion on that thread. Why use an informative thread like this one or one for links for chat? It's not a bad thing to have a locked thread with information in it. There's nothing wrong with this thread either. It's the same thread. You can discuss here. I don't mind discussing. I just said that I'm not interested because I'm tired. I put a lot of work into this and now... the thread is here and you're not even using it.
If you want, spend several hours making your own thread with links and discuss it. But that's silly when the thread is here. The other thread stays locked and stuck unless the majority here tell me that they would like it removed. That thread was created with lots of work and good intentions. I thought many of you would be pleased with it. Let me know if you're not.

E & W thread

The E & W thread is a good idea. I'm glad you put up there because having the various links to said poems makes it easy and interesting to see what Laurel or Manu like and the W's of course too.

So, thanks :)

How is replying to a sticky thread where the poems are listed on the FRONT PAGE, going to lose the poems?

they'll still be on the front page, they don't magically disappear.

And if stating how I feel, or what I want from my "moderator" is treating you "wrong" then I don't want to be right. Either you have an open ear, and mind, or you're just on a power trip. You can hear me without getting your panties in a knot and don't have to agree with me. I'm fine with that. But making double threads on all the latest topics is even more convoluted than how we're doing it.

This is a poetry "discussion" forum, not just a poetry list forum. If it were, we could just go to the daily lists. IF you want to make it easy for the newbies, then direct them on how to use the system and find things, don't tell the people who've been here for awhile they can't discuss and make human connections within the scope of poetry discussion, that's completely dictatorial.

The way we're headed it's going to end up being like "personals" and "the playground" except it will be "poetry forum" and "poetry discussion". This division is ridiculous.

You can think I'm attacking you personally, and maybe I am if you're making all the decisions for "the poets", but it's not you, Eve, it's the choices you're making. It's not the one sticky thread it's the locked sticky thread about poetry, not the rules, it's the "let's not discuss anything but poetry in this thread", it's the "this thread is too long, let's start a new one where we have all these rules". This poetry thing is hard enough without taking the human element from the discussions. It's not fucking school, it's a forum of friends. I've always considered you one, and still do, but I've got to ask myself "what the fuck is going on here?"
I mean you said yourself the other night, that you had been stagnant, removing humanity from poetry discussion isn't the answer. Remember, we've got to fill ourselves up to be able to pour out, sugah.

Maybe I'm a little heated about this, I'm concerned. I know I am completely antagonistic, but please don't let that get in the way of you hearing what I'm trying to say.

Maybe some people don't think I have the right to say anything, because I come and go as I please, but I will anyway, especially for something I care about.

I also thought it was a great idea, I just wanted to fucking reply to it. God forbid I want to reply on posted poetry in the fucking poetry discussion forum.

jesus fucking christ.

oh my what is the fuckity fuck fukeroni is the fucking difference?fuck! :)

To start the discussion of the poems, I am going to start with one I do not need to re-read to treat with respect--

it is mine, I am ashamed of my "Ode to my husbands Cum" I mean I do honestly love the stuff but cannot believe I jumped into literotica with such a silly poem that even rhymes (My first and last) It doesnt feel like I even wrote it lol who stole my fingers?

I personally like the info not mixed in, what a pain in the ass to have to scroll through everything to find the info, like the one time I searched and searched for I who reviewed what when.

finally said fuck it.

same with new poems.

splitting them up well--

it is like a fucking democracy and a fucking republic, you know?

nothing personal, this is my opinion on it-- not kissing moderator ass or anything
seemed like a great compromise.
What is the difference-- place to play and comment, place to go get the info,

when I am reading a book, I do not want to read pages and pages of commentary from people off the street and out of the ivory tower either. Just let me read the book.

what the fuck is up, I am thinking "why worry about it" and here I go blah blah blah

it just does not fucking matter

there and I did not recruit stupid seattle to say it:cool:

okay, E discussion. Maybe its the wrong time but I had a really suck ass day with my girls and their PMS..I dont see how men put up with us.

anyway, just an odd observation..every single poem I have that got an E, I wrote in less than about 15 minutes. The stuff I bust my ass on gets stuck at the bottom of the pile...isnt that funny?:D

For the records, Perks, the only posts being moved out of New Poetry Reviews thread are those that add nothing to the discussion: Off-topic chit-chat and thank you notes. Any comment you want to make about any poem being reviewed or not will NOT be moved. As you said, 'This is a poetry "discussion" forum'. Is it so bad to have one thread with nothing but poetry being discussed?

As for the excuse for your rant, I see no problem with unlocking the E thread for discussion and see what happens.

***

You do realise all the ranting, belligerence and passive-aggressive bullshit you're putting on makes it really difficult for a group of people that like to call you friend and waste hours of their personal time with no compensation making sure everything works better for you, don't you?

Dude, volunteering to do something doesn't mean you're wasting time.
It is more than possible for me to not agree with some of the choices you make for this forum and appreciate the work you do.

If it is so difficult for you to call me friend, then don't.

I'm going to go take a break. I'll be back to do my review on Saturday/Sunday whenever the poems come out, but I think I'll just take a breather besides that. That way things won't be "so difficult" for you.

I didn't say it was difficult to call you friend, Perks. I said your ranting, belligerence and passive-aggressive bullshit make it difficult for us to feel like we're not wasting our time. If you have anything to say about how things are done, you can do without the attitude.

Before anything was done on the New Poetry Reviews thread, we discussed it with all. If you wanted to post on the E-list thread, you could have just said so.

jesus fucking christ.

Well I'm hangin around for a while this morning, so here's my two cents. I piss and moan about banter and then I do it in all the threads. I feel sort of hypocritical telling people I think they shouldn't. And Perks, my sweet friend (I do love you, yknow), I don't equate a comment on a poem, a reply, etc., with *banter* just to be clear on that point.

I do, however, dislike it when I have to wade through 100 flirtations and jokes (knowing even as I complain that I do it, too, lol) to find some poem. And I've had friends say to me Jesus, I can't take the time to look for that--it's buried. And practically speaking, when a thread gets too big--like the new poems threads have--it takes too long (especially if you have a dial-up connection) for the darn thing to load. That last point to me is the justification for trying to keep comments in such threads focused on the poems.

Now we'll see if I can do it. :D

And anyone can be as sweet or belligerent as they want--who cares. It's about poems, right? And Lauren, I love you too (as you well know), but is that gun loaded?

That seems to be the an overall symptom. My most liked ones are the ones I kind of farted out by accident, while the ambitious, worked upon pieces gets a colder reception. Niether is good enough for an E though, apparently. :)

#L

ps. What's perks and Lauren bickering about? Oh wait. I really don't want to know. Ignorance is bliss, lots of love to everyone, peace on earth and free Willy.

I'm glad I went on to bed last night. lol
I'm trying to read perks posts, but I can't do it without coffee.
Someone just give me a summary. Do I get rid of the E thread, unlock it or what? Is there still a fuss about me making that silly thing and locking it? I just don't want y'all in there slopping around. lol By the way, anyone can make an info thread or whatver they feel may make a good addition to the board and we can stick/lock it. If we get too many threads, like maybe tips on writing poetry, we can also unstick them and add links to the links thread at the top. Look at this, here I go again. lol
Hey, did anyone ever discuss the poems? I saw I just got an E. At least, my childhood, American vacation trauma finally paid off. It's an older poem, edited recently, not bad but I must apologize for its E. I know there are much better ones out there by many of you. I think Lauren needs to resurrect her L she was handing out. :)

okay, coffee time.

'get rid of the..'
Isn't this the E thread?

Ok, now I'm really confused.

No, the other E thread.

Hey, I just read that about my panties in a knot. First, I'm not wearing any (I swear, I'm not. It's the South and it's hot) And second, if I was, they weren't in a knot. I was nice about it. I'm not upest now. I'm smiling. I can't help it. lol

Only if everyone promises to wipe their feet and I don't want to catch any cybering over in the corners! Unless someone wants to hit on me. That's fine. As you can see, I live by my own disturbing rules.

Seriously, Poetry discussion only!!! Don't make Poetzilla crush you!
