I always grew up thinking I was like Ferris, but now I realised I'm more like Cameron Fry. LolGreat movie indeed.
In the novel, Alex starts out at the age of fifteen; Malcolm McDowell was in his late twenties at the time of filming. The two girls are "pre-teens;" which they obviously aren't in the movie. Also, the sex isn't consensual; Alex drugs and rapes them when he brings them home. Even Kubrick didn't dare film it all the exact way that Burgess wrote it.
The most unconvincing 15 year old ever! I laughed so hard when his Mum was trying to get him out of bed to go to school. I know he's a bad guy, but probably the most handsome and alluring UK actorIn the novel, Alex starts out at the age of fifteen; Malcolm McDowell was in his late twenties at the time of filming. Right, that was in the movie. Let's give Kubrick a break and assume that Alex is a high school senior. It's still a stretch. It's like James Dean being about twenty-four and playing a high school student in Rebel Without A Cause. I think they call that a "Hollywood teenager." At least Sal Mineo and Natalie Wood (born 1939 and 1938) were of plausible ages. The most unconvincing 15 year old ever! I prefer to remember him as a 29 year old, closer to my age. God damn those VERY bad guys!Right, that was in the movie. Let's give Kubrick a break and assume that Alex is a high school senior. But sometimes it is...It's not all ultra-violence
I like high body count, but explosives/guns are too easy. Let's get back to basics ...But sometimes it is...
For those who like high body counts in their films!
