never been a big fan of the cheese ball(my dad was but not me) but this too sounds yummy

The cream cheese one that’s rolled in pecans is what I call a traditional cheese ball and not my favorite. But cheddar cheese is my favorite and I love a green onion chopped in salads. The mayonnaise melts in with little flavor profile and acts as a glue as there is no cream cheese. Plus the green onion and cayenne help cut the richness. They add some sharp bite. Plus bacon. it’s really good. And easy.

Super easy I’m embarrassed to say actually but I’ve been making it for 30 years and it’s constantly requested (required). 1 pound grated sharp cheddar, 1 pound cooked crisp of bacon then crumbled, I bunch of green onions chopped. Cayenne pepper I think it’s calls for a teaspoon I just sprinkle some in. It’s a powered spice form that I used. And it calls for two cups of Hellman’s mayonnaise. Mix and chill. I serve with a butter cracker (town house brand) and strawberry preserves. That was how I originally tasted it a company party years ago at my 1st job out of college. I’ve served it that way ever since. Not broken why try to fix it is my opinion.
