Mostly I use a Glencairn glass. Unless I'm feeling too lazy to hand wash the glasses afterwards, and then I'll generally go with a larger, but still tapered old fashioned glass.MDY!! Welcome to the Bae!

As much as I like my whisky neat like @midwestyankee I could go for a Dark and Stormy tonight ('coz it's dark and stormy tonight here on Lake Huron). Kraken spiced rum, Great Gentleman ginger beer, a nice float of 151 to finish it? Please?
I had the pleasure of traveling in the Scottish highlands a few years ago and acquired an appreciation for smokey, peaty whiskeys... they are still not my favorite- isn't to my preferred palette, but we usually have a good Laphroiag (or similar) in the house.@cascadiabound, I see i skipped one of your questions. Most of the time, I favor single malts, and lately the peatier and smokier the better. Laphroiag 16 year is what I'd pour if I wanted one right now.
