Good news. Trump's lazy current "herd mentality"/"do nothing but mock" policy on the pandemic means that 200,000 American deaths is small change. His policy has been costed out to mean it will be between 2 and 6 million deaths before the virus plays out. But as long as the stock market is robust . . .
And even if he loses election in November, he won't be replaced until January. So, a guaranteed 400,000 unnecessarily dead Americans (but maybe a robust stock market) in the best of political scenarios . . . unless he's somehow jerked out of there before then or put completely on ignore by those actually doing any work.

Where do you get the 2-6 million number from? The CDC has given an IFR if .25% to .6% for the last 6 months or so and as treatments get better those numbers will go down, even if COVID was allowed to spread unchecked it still wouldn’t infect every single last person.

I think most other countries give COVID an IFR of less than 1% if I’m not mistaken, not saying that’s good given how contagious the virus is. With increased testing we’re even seeing many places that have CASE fatality rates less than 1% now.
