Do you also hate the guy who allowed him to do all of that?Hate? No, it's more like despise. I despise that a little bureaucrat piece of shit was given this much uncontrolled power to disrupt lives, ruin businesses, and allow people to die from an illness he helped fund through his agency. Hatred is too strong, despise is just about right. My perfect end to this would to see him arrested and tried for conspiracy in regards to this debacle.
Ive been called worseOh you are about the farthest thing from a cross.
Your position seems to mirror that of the article....that the COVID retractions are abnormal and high.....which cannot be concluded by the.available information.Funny, how on so many poly-sci issues, if you don't agree with the prevailing end-of-the-world hysteria citing the statistics on flawed research in the publish-or-perish atmosphere of academia, then you hate Science, because, don'tcha know, this stuff is peer-reviewed. "AJ, what the hell, don't you even have a basic understanding of peer-review? You must be lying about your degrees if you don't understand peer review."
But then when papers are actually withdrawn, "AJ, what the hell, don't you even have a basic understanding that papers are withdrawn in every field, all the time, because they are found to be flawed? You must be lying about your degrees!"
Do you men to say that the Glowball Warning movement is similarly full of flawed peer-reviewed research?
In for the penny, in for the pound.
I do understand academia.
I've been there...
It doesn't matter. What we do know is that virtually all of the knee-jerk reactions by the political class were almost uniformly the wrong thing to do.Your position seems to mirror that of the article....that the COVID retractions are abnormal and high.....which cannot be concluded by the.available information.
And it's everyone else's fault because everyone else failed to provide information to YOU that would fill in the gaps of your logic. And a few of us actually have done so.
Less than 1% retraction rate (much less). Sounds horrible.![]()
There are retractions of papers all the time. Why do you think the site linked to the article exists? There are many reasons they are retracted. (This was also mentioned on the site that was.sourced)Why would there be any Covid retractions at all?
The science was sound about what specifically, were the deniers told? And what, exactly, does the word "sound" mean to you? When you write a paper, does that immediately make it a scientific conclusion?The Science was sound, so we the deniers were told...
New tech does things faster. There was proof of efficacy. But now have we moved on from the virus to the vaccine?I mean, a "vaccine" in record time without the usual protections and zero proof of efficacy?
Pandemics are never a finest hour.Yes, this was Political Science's finest hour. Just like AIDS. Just like GlowBall Warning. Just like Energy Production.
Yes, and here we have again more proof of my assertion. The article is lazy, but easily roped in people who believe the obfuscation it presented.It doesn't matter. What we do know is that virtually all of the knee-jerk reactions by the political class were almost uniformly the wrong thing to do.
Yes, initial studies about the virus were used.....the alternative is to throw darts at a dart board. When not much is known about a disease, you go with what is known and available. That's actually how medicine and disease prevention works.What we also know is that those initial, and flawed, papers were used to form Draconian public policy and in the end we don't know how many of the political class were merely mislead or purposely grabbing for power. Regardless it appears that the public has learned a valuable lesson.
If you had your way, experience would not be reasoning to hire people.Be very, very, wary of the politicians that cry, "Follow the science!" when it is those very politicians that funded the science to begin with. An alliance between the state and science is as unholy and dangerous as an alliance between the State and the church.
It was an actual pandemic. Take whatever politics or opinion out of the topic - the sheer infection rate and global reach is enough to categorize it as one.Faux pandemic was a finest hour for the Left's exercise in muscle-flexing.
How does the retraction of:Faux pandemic was a finest hour for the Left's exercise in muscle-flexing.
Experience huh? How about this;Yes, and here we have again more proof of my assertion. The article is lazy, but easily roped in people who believe the obfuscation it presented.
No matter that the retraction rate isn't abnormally high.....it is because you say it is!

The alternative is not as pretty.
If you had your way, experience would not be reasoning to hire people.
Invermectin was the finest hour for the Right's exercise in "Alternate facts".Faux pandemic was a finest hour for the Left's exercise in muscle-flexing.
They are effective at preventing severe illness and death and are proven to reduce symptoms if you do get the virus.Experience huh? How about this;
We have NEVER created a vaccine that is 100% against the flu or the common cold, and that is the category that the Wuhan Flu falls into. Those vaccines that have been produced are not 100% effective in preventing the contraction of the disease nor the spread. The degree to which those vaccines are effective in ameliorating the effects of the disease vary from individual to individual and we still don't know why.
They are correct.The claims by Biden, Trump, or any other politician that "millions were saved" are hollow claims. We have no way of knowing how many were "saved" by the vaccine or any other measures the politicians inflicted on the public. What we do know is that the very worst of the societal consequences had nothing to do with the disease itself.
Good for youI said at the very outset of this disease that it was going to run it's course regardless of any measure taken, and that's pretty much how it all played out.
Experience huh? How about this;

Are you referring to hydroxychloroquine?I mean, a "vaccine" in record time without the usual protections and zero proof of efficacy?
Probably almost every day.Ive been called worse
On here, certainly. Even though I obviously strive to gain favor with everyone here every minute of every day.Probably almost every day.

That might possibly be the funniest and most ironic thing I have ever seen on Literotica.On here, certainly. Even though I obviously strive to gain favor with everyone here every minute of every day.
