I just got home from work - it's 7pm - and I'm going to go to busboys anyway because my friend lives above it, but I have no idea if people are going.
the metro is very fucked up tonight so i might be there after 8, but i warned ya.

I was there around 8:20, jeans, converse, brown shirt and a white jacket...
i didnt see anyone kinda looking for other people, or people milling about (other than groups waiting for tables).

i walked around and looked, but didnt see anything like that.

Yeah the place was packed. No wonder we did not figure out others were there. I was there, blue jeans, Harley windbreaker, with none other than my Dr. Feelgood vintage T on. Stood around outside for a bit, then took off the jacket and went inside. Walked around or should I say bumped around...... and then walked around outside ala jacket. Got there late though went left on 14th from U instead of right. I was there from 8:50-9:20 though then decided to head on back home.

do you think maybe a weeknight would be better, from a 'packed' point of view? the place is great, and i think the location is good....what do you think Dr. Feelgood?

i couldnt find it at all lol i got off of the metro and was lost completely lol i know weeknights for me are out but lets do it again next weekend the 14th and meet outside, that way we all can meet up and actually find the place, also though if it was really crowded what about someplace else....next weekend lets try it again meet out in front of busboys and poets (maybe it wont be so busy) and then we can plan from there

the place is literally at 14th and V - you get off the metro at U street and take the 13th an U exit, off the escelator walk straight - that's 13th. one more block is 14th. then cross the street (to your right) and go up to V.

if you go to far on U, you'll get to cakelove and we'll never find you again after you die of yummy desserts.

Might be too dangerous, but did not look such at 8:30 but how about we meet just outside the metro station at 13th and U? See how many we have then walk in a group to WHEREVER we decide to go seemed like lots of places in that area to go and Poets seemed one of the busier places. Lots of quaint looking little dives in that area though it seemed. Lord knows I saw enough of them. I would suggest meeting at the Starbucks on the corner but that place looked as crowded as Poets.

shyandsecret my dear I almost gave up as well. Walked about 10 blocks the wrong way down 14th. I even looked at a map before I left but something about coming out of those subway tunnels make me all freaking turned around. Even turned the wrong way coming out of the Vienna/Fairfax Metro parking garage and I have been there many times.

After getting to Poets I freaking kicked myself as it was just a block up 14th but to the right not left. One thing I failed to do was write down the address before leaving or it would not have been a problem.

14th sounds good if we can swing it.

Regardless I definately wanna find something to do on Halloween weekend. That is MY kind of holiday. Maybe a Halloween Littogether?

hm we could not do the 14th but possible do the weekend before halloween...

i think meeting somewhere like starbucks is fine. there's stuff down 14th street (google them if you want) Cafe St. Ex...bar pilar...the black cat (my favorite bar). the further down U st you go, sometimes the shadier you get. DC9 is nice, but 9th and U is not necessarily the best.
