He nodded and slipped an arm around her waist, pulling her a bit closer
"They almost sound better than we did when we started out with this life. Alex brought up an interesting thought, that Death Dancer has been starting to draw attention, not just for the music, but the youthful looks that don't fade."
He grinned, "You mean that we will do what normally gets done when you want to live among humans and not draw attention."
He thought about it for a moment, "I think we are still good for a few years, maybe we can publicly visit a few rejuvenation centers, let them wonder what work we had done. Then we can retire in an accident and return a few years later. So basically follow your idea and do a bit more to let people wonder about us."
He was glad that the crowd gave the group a good reception, they were cheering for them almost as if they were a much more popular band.
He nodded and watched her as she left, he stayed for a few moments longer, watching the group and then went to the backstage area to get his guitar and to get ready for their performance.
Carefully placed clips in her hair so her wild stage hair wasn't in fact as willd as it could be. She smiled and changing to her stage boots she was ready and glanced around.
She smiled to him as they ran out on stage. She could have gone on forever. This was her safe place... her world... her peace. Some songs on the piano many where she just danced around singing. It was the closest thing she knew to alive as it were.
The cheers from the crowd were deafening, he grinned at the people shouting and cheering, he could see the undead and the supernatural mixed into the crowd and it was clear that they were all there for one thing. The music. The first song started with Eden playing the piano, the bud in his ear relaying the music from the sound system to him to hear and he joined in at the right mark.
Slow ballad or heavy intensity Eden was lost in it all. Music the only thing she love even close to how much she loved him. So many songs geared toward their love and their past as well as their war and their kind and other supernaturals but also things within the lyrics the humans could.relate to for their short intense lives.
During the sets he moved to the piano, especially with the ballads, smiling at her as she played and sang. It was close to the end of the show when the crowd started to chant for a specific song, a song that Stefan used to sing along with Eden. He raised an eyebrow, "Want to try it with the new voice?"
She nodded and began playing. Last song of the night. Omen watched them as Luna moved into the song as natural as could be leading Omen to do the same.
Omen followed on queue, the song coming naturally as it was one they have performed a lot in the past. He looked at Eden for a long moment and then made his way over to the stage microphone
"Lay it down,
lay the light of your love in my heart.
There's no need to run, no need to hide.
You are the one that I want.
Your love is the morning sun to my lonely night."
The crowd cheered even harder as he sang the first lyrics.
She was surprised when Omen sang instead of her love but the crowd seemed to love it as she nodded to each of the band. She simply played as he sang from the drums. Impressed by the sound of it all.
Stefan was caught by surprise when Omen started to sing, but he went with it, smiling when Eden joined in with her parts. The song ended and the crowd cheered even harder than before, clearly impressed with Omen's skills.
He felt anger when the woman stepped out from the shadows, the words were his brother's even if the voice wasn't. He watched her collapse and stood back to allow the others to move in. He knew what to do, but as a fledgling, he was not controlled enough to go near the woman and the blood which was sure to follow.
Luna snarled under her breath just for the band to hear.
Venom curse... he knows we won't kill to free her for it and the human hospitals will just prolong her suffering. Get your love out of here. Your brother tries to play on her caring heart when it comes to humans... we will deal with this.
Omen nods and shoves her towards Alex as he and Luna try to help the girl.
He wrapped an arm around Eden and led her away, the horrors of the curse being remembered for the benefit of Alex, who of course recoiled mentally at such horror.
Yes... Luna will give her something Omen will make sure she reeks of cheap booze and on the way to the hospital with what Luna gives her she will die of natural causes.
"He must be hoping to get to Alex and have him crack before we can fully meld. But I think he might be too late, all he will do is just prove to what low down and evil lengths he will go."
She was trying to set herself against everything like she had not done so earlier due to her loves awakening. It hurt seeing what their enemy was willing to do over some centuries old grudge from their mortal lives.
