A mortal in the Band (Closed)

The minute she saw him we lost her. There would have been no convincing her even if Momma had said he was a plain normal human he would have been with us till he figured us out or his death.

Omen shrugged

And she was willing to do a stare-down with me in front of him to make her point. Fairly certain she would have gone toe to toe with Luna had Luna been there at the audition and had voted no.

"I was totally star-struck, having been following the group for years. I truly thought that I wasn't good enough to be part of the band, but didn't know I had some inside help because of my looks."

He grinned, "But that was the past, we are together once more and moving to set our final plan into action."

It is a good thing nothing scares her and that stubborn streak. At least in modern times.

Omen laughed

He smiled

"She's always been a willful one, that was part of what attracted me to her in the first place. How I managed to capture her heart, only she will know."

He pushed the papers together, placing the pencil on top of them

"Think I will spell Luna, the two of you need some sleep."

We will be at a rest stop soon brother.

Omen chuckled a little

She will sleep as you all drive the next path to a more feral show.

He groaned, "You kept that as part of the tour? That is very tiring."

He shifted to sit in the seat, looking at Omen, "And you will sleep as well, there are not that many hours left before sunrise."

Yes, I will sleep too. Luna will sleep after we get to the show as well. It is close to another shifter domain they will take over guarding while we all sleep. Then while you and Luna and I set up our fearless leader will do as always and go visit the cubs and do a little sing-along with them and the other children.

"You and I? Set up? You mean that you will be kicking back, drinking beer while I have to do the work because I am the older brother."

Omen chuckled, "That only happened once and you know it. It is good to see that your memory is still mostly intact though."

He nodded, "Yes, I was worried about it for a while, but clearly I didn't have to."

He rose from the seat and moved to the front, seeing the stop coming up as he stopped behind Eden, "I will drive from here Luna, you and Omen can get some sleep."

I will sleep when we get to guarded lands.

Luna grumbled

Luna... Rest... It's okay...

She tried whispering to their feline friend. Trying to tag her tired mind into agreeing with them and doing to rest.

Fine... They will not recognize him you should drive instead.

Luna moved some so that she could grab the wheel after Luna slipped the bus to the side of the road.

He watched Luna as she made her way to the back and Omen followed her, he sat down on the co-driver seat and placed his feet up on the dash.

"I keep forgetting about the sight and smell, this body feels so familiar that I keep forgetting that I am not my old self."

It is a bit of a change but not as much outside as perhaps inside and age wise.

She glanced over briefly before going back to watching the road.

His eyes I think really gave your presence away to me first.

"Oh, you like to look into strange guys' eyes before taking them to the music master who nobody really understands?"

He chuckled and lean back into the seat

"When you have a moment, there's a song I want you to have a look at, I think you might have heard when I hummed it. It needs lyrics though and I think your magic touch is needed there."

I would love to look at it. He already knew him and shopped there.

She laughed.

Plus needed to get him a show guitar

He smiled and rested his hands behind his head

"A show guitar embued with a bit of magick. Naughty naughty."

He chuckled and turned his attention to the road, "How do you feel about going back home?"

I don't know. I haven't really been back in so long... Of my choice that is.

She shrugged and drove.

What about you?

He stared at the road for a long while, "Anxious. I have not been there in ages and I am not returning as the man who left. I am returning a stranger with the memories and experiences of who I am and the lives I have lived."

He drummed his fingers on his thighs, "No offense, but being a vampire sucks. There's no coffee, drinks, or snacks for the drive because we don't need them. It takes away the fun of long-distance travel."

Sounds like Alex is restless... Should we stop somewhere and let him walk around or find a place to feed or you two go rest I am fine just driving.

She smiled at him reaching a hand to his hand.

He smiled and took her hand, entwining their fingers

"That would mean that you have to stop and the fun is in the constant movement, but eating chips and drinking soda or coffee is half the fun of long-distance travel."

He thought about it for a moment, "Not really restless, just not used to this yet, but then again, I am still very young."

She just smiled to him. A couple of hours later a very intent change I'm the air and the intensity of the energy in the area changed.

We are entering the guarded lands. Alex take a step back as it were and let the vampires do the talking please. It might be hard enough to explain why he is in such a young body as it is without them realizing the body is still part host.

Placing a hand on his cheek she tried to impart the hybrid appearances of those in the guarded land ranging from wolf shifters to bear shifters and even one very old very large very cranky golden eagle shifter.

He winked at her, "I know what they look like, let's just hope that they don't ask too many questions though, the boy is a very curious creature and may decide that he wants to ask some questions of his own."

He turned his face and kissed the palm of her hand, "Don't worry, I can control this."

She nodded and smiled.

I am sure you can it's one of the packs of cubs we will probably encounter first taking on the outer perimeter guard tasks. Gods forbid the old eagle is the first we meet he will have questions and... Then again he might realize who you are as well.

He gave a soft grunt, "He's still alive? Let's just hope that age brings wisdom and that he does indeed recognize me, it will save us a lot of hassle and questions."

He motioned ahead with his head, "Think we can stop at the service station up ahead? I want to see if they have some red licorice."

Yes we can.

She laughed a little.

Not sure how well red licorice will stay with you but yes that's fine.

He shrugged, "So far the small amounts I have sucked on didn't make me too sick. I find the taste quite nice, not as nice as you taste, but then again can't have you cooped up in a bed the whole time."

He grinned and winked at her, "Do you think the Council has any idea that we are going to show up and are only using this tour to set up the flight back home?"

Yes... They know we are flying home as the last leg of this tour. It has been far too long and they know this ends This time once and for all.

She found the station and pulled in letting him go shop and pay while she put gas in the bus.
