Derek Janus had always been a man whom took what he wanted, without regard nor care of what it did to others. Some called him an ass, but those were the same people whom dared not even look at him in the eyes! They were but whispers behind his back, not that he really cared at all. The life he had lead had been a rocky one, more then most knew. Derek had grown up in a world of 'freaks' that he came to understand were a part of the world, and that humans weren't actually alone.
Yet that was partially why he had gone into the forest. It had been the summer of his eighteenth birthday when he had seen the city he had called home all his life 'invaded' not through force, but with a sense of 'understanding'. Ethnic freedom they had called it, the politicians had seen it as an oppotunity to open up trade. For Derek though, he had decided then and there that he needed to get out.
So he had taken his money, and going into the forests, he had built himself a small hunters home. It wasn't huge, but it did very nicely for himself. Through the next five years, he had encountered many beings... from elves to pixies, and with some he had learned quite a bit. He had learned most had the same 'parts' as a human, and that if he caught them, he was able to have his way with them!
He was only known as the hunter these days, and today, he was on a particular hunt. He had caught sight of her from afar, she was by a lake near the river that ran by his home. So he had moved silently, descending through the forest until he settled into the underbrush of the forest and watched her silently. He had to admit, he had never seen one such as she before.
For Derek though, clothed in a dark green cowel and a bow slung over his shoulder, a quiver of netted arrows on his back, he was quite content at the moment to watch her. He had yet to decide if she was going to be his new play thing... or not.
