So, Ren, which of the three remaining options for Max do you like best? All three are just like Max to some degree, but which shall he do?

*smiles* I know that we all miss 'em... it seems like everything has quited down without them here.. *is a little sad* ...

Hmm, I think I will combine two of them and go with that. By the way, how many opponents is the captain facing? I was going to post something along the lines of eight, but since this is your idea, I'll let you decide.

Hey if Max sees and survives the abduction, then can he come back to the ship and we can have a full out rescue operation. (I know thats a kink in your story line and unneeded, but it would be fun.)

Its not wanted but I want to rebal on about my novel series.

When I was 16 or 17 I started ths novel series. I made it ten pages in. But I had the first couple of books planed out.

The story centered around 7 humans from earth and a world in which spell casting worked and the steam engine was just entering use. The series would have elemental magic, guns, sword fights, and of coarse giant robots.

Justin and the steel dragon.

The main character was Justin, summoned to the world by Lee, (right as he asks a girl out,) a disembodied voice (and an accidental resident of the world.) He starts in the land of water which is allied with the land of fire. Rumors of a strange steel dragon sucking the mana and life out of people abound. The land of fire built this dragon to acquire enough mana to power a much larger version of the same thing.

Justin travels to a town where he finds out about the giant robots, smaller then the first dragon and dwarfed by the second. From there he encounters the beast while helping a friend and the two over power the first beast. Enter main character three, played by myself, the general of fire Nicholas.

Unknown to Justin, Lee the disembodied voice learned the land of fire was about to cause wide spread destruction and war with said steel dragons. Lee being a person who had come to love this world had summoned Nicholas to the land of fire to stop it. At that point Nicholas was promptly arrested for jay walking, once in prison a tool lee equipped him with was un masked. Nicholas had an incredible amount of fire mana. So they conscripted him into the military were he came to believe winning the war quickly was the best way to save lives.

Nicholas having strong clues Justin was from earth like himself boarded and airship heading to the flying islands of the Continent of air. A wealthy nation that is at the peak of technology, including genetic research. The island floats above the four other continents of Fire, water, earth, and metal. While on the island of wind, first day in fact, Justin spots Kate, the girl he had a crush on at school. (briefly mentioned at the start of the story.) Nicholas spots this and brings her in for questioning too.

A second general heads to finish the dragon project as Nicholas heads to the land of fire. Days go by and Nicholases past is unraveled and more clues are gathered about the legendary warrior Lee. That is when Justin and Kate find a chance to escape and managed to get off the island of wind and onto the content of metal. Once there they find some one doing work on giant robots similar to that in the land of water. With him is June who once more is from earth. The fire plot is reveled to June and mechanic and they set off by ship to the land of water.

Once there they meet up with the mechanics friend who made the first set of robots. The man has prepared his machine and June has hers. Naturally Kate ends up in the mans, and Justin ends up fighting the other general on the now complete steel dragon as the other two attack it outside. Ends in victory for Justin and friends of coarse.

That was the first book and by far the best developed.

Book2
After that, they find out Junes twin sister is in the nation of earth. Kate dies and is replaced by another girl given Kate's control of wind. She turn coats of coarse. Stephen shows up, one of my best friends. Stephen persuades Nicholas to turn coat. They find Junes sister and the resting place of Lee. Full legend disclosed.

Book3
In book 1 the fire kingdom took some of Justin's blood, and Kate's too. The also had Nicholases blood. Naturally they didn't just copy Kate's powers. They copied all three and put all three into their top general. While trapped in an ancient shrine by enemy forces June's sister Stephen and Nicholas start to study the ancient magic inside. The shrine is a powerful artifact and combines Nicholas and Stephen into one person until that person chooses return to normal. This person easily over powers their captors and the two escape. From there it becomes clear this new person is not Nicholas or Stephen and is fine staying the way he is. The rest of the story is stopping him.

Book4
The fire kingdom frees Lee from his resting place and more importantly the evil Lee had trapped in there with him. Lee and the evil revel to the two sides the locations of the Legendary beasts. 1 for each element and the first one to reach it with enough power can add the beasts to there own.

Book 5 basically is coming home to earth with Lee who's family is long gone and with out Kate who is dead. Of coarse the remaining fire generals and evil being fallow. So the last battle is fought on earth.

Interesting story concepts, cats. Should have posted to Lit so it could be read, that is, if you had ever finished it. Did you?

As for Max, I think the whole idea is for him to see the abduction, hear a bit of the conversation so he knows who's responsible, and then return. If he's lucky, he just might grab one of the captors and drag him back to the ship; unconscious, of course.

i figured like 10.

and cats, that sounds great.

my story arc is basically that the Sanguine King (who shows up alot in my worlds) appears on Jaris, in a floating castle in the far north. at this time the Mourning Moon appears in the sky and because of this, the fabric of the planes begins to unravel and tear. the six nations of jaris are to consumed with fighting each other to do anything about it. So jayzin takes it upon himself and a few companions to gather the swords of destruction (armageddon, apocalypse, and ragnarok) and unchain the celestial wolf Fenris, who will consume the mourning moon and thus allow the sanguine king to be killed. at the same time, jayzin has to unite the kingdoms to fight against the Sanguine Kings legions of monsters. jayzin will also discover who and what he is over the course of this adventure.

10 sounds good to me, and so, I shall set to work. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll just slip into my office and start working.

*marches into a Port-o-Potty and closes the door so it says "Occupied"*

:D

I have a feeling if I knew more norse mythology I would have a much deeper understanding of your story.

like I said mine made it to ten pages. I then stopped and decided to redo it a year ago. At that point I had trouble combining all the generes and concepts. So I decided to remove the giant robots and guns. From there I had find a way to fix the wholes in the plot I had. At that point I promptly said "don't I have homework or somthing."

I tried to start it as a roleplay on lit once. Didn't get support.

Since then I am 20 pages in for a textbook on teaching. If I were to finish a writing project it would be that, because I am resonably sure it could turn a profit.

Ragnarok and Fenris are just names i used. No special norse understanding necessary.

although, dont let that stop you from looking into norse mythology. Its fascinating, and i find it far superior to greco-roman stuff.

must be the northern european barbarian in me.

I find the greek and roman works interesting and I used to read them during lunch back in eighth grade. Sense then I have read exactly none of it. Although I own the odesy and the Iliad. So perhaps I should give those a try.

If you want a fun mythology I suggest watching Disney's gargoyles. If you want a dull read I recamend the Divine Comedy.

*steps out of the Port-o-Potty, typed post in hand; looking in through the open door, a 500sqft office can be seen*

Here you go Ren. Now, let's see what happens. ;)

You see the inferno was dry for me, to make matters worse the "Divine Comedy" was in my english textbook and we read it. That is to say it contained all 34 cantos of the inferno, 3 cantos of purgatory, and the first canto of paradice, meaning before they get to heaven. So I am offended that it was still called the divine comedy and not the inferno. I could easily of gone with 10 less cantos of the inferno and 10 more of paradice.

tired. the ORP has been dead today.

Yes it has. I was on around 10 pm local, and seeing no one on, decided to play a PC game. Came back on about a half hour ago. Where is everyone?

And oddly enough, I'm tired too. I don't know why, seeing as how I'm usually wide awake at this time.

havent the foggiest lad, i probably wont be around much longer though.

Well, how about I put up Max's reply so that we will have to wait for the others? That way you can go to bed earlier than normal, and then I can do whatever the hell I'm going to do (haven't figured it out yet).
